Have your say! We support the move to get NZTA to include a separate walking and cycling path in the proposed road that will replace the Gorge road. This is a prime opportunity to create a safe new place to exercise as well as providing an alternative to motorised transport. Be quick - submissions need to be in this week!

It's hard to believe that a year ago we were packing up and locking up the clinics to go to the unknown world of working from home, telehealth and Level 4 lockdown! We learnt (very quickly!) how to zoom, do telehealth, have virtual staff meetings (some even included a glass of wine!) and we got on with it. Then we got back to the clinic eventually and we learnt a whole lot more - how to clean a surface to within an inch of it's life, hand sanitising became second nature and I think the admin team ask Covid screening questions in their sleep! There was huge change - not only Covid related - as we moved the town clinic to new premises on Broadway - our Hand Therapy friends, and Karen and Avril stayed at Ashley St - and new staff came on board! Fiona is incredibly grateful for having an awesome team that worked so hard through the lockdown, the transition back to the clinic and then in the move to the new site - it just wouldn't have happened without their efforts. Safe to say it hasn't been the easiest year to date (and not one to be repeated!) but we made it and I think stronger for it. Stay safe everyone, keep going - we can do this!

From 6am this morning we will be operating under Covid Alert Level 2. We are still open from tomorrow morning but will take some extra precautions to keep our clients, our staff and our community safe.
There will be additional screening as you and staff arrive at the clinic, additional sanitising and cleaning will occur and we will practice social distancing in the waiting room/reception area and the treatment rooms. At Level 2 attendance at the clinic is by appointment only so please phone rather than drop in to make or change appointments. Hang in there, we can do this!

Christmas donations stolen in Palmerston North cathedral burglary

We want to do something for our community in this festive season and thought what better cause than to help our new neighbours after they were burgaled recently. We have a food bin in our reception for you to contribute to and Churchyard Physiotherapy will match any donations made and give this to the Society of St Vincent de Paul prior to Christmas. Merry Christmas to you all.

Friday was the annual Churchyard Physiotherapy Christmas Event - we may be at a new churchyard but somethings remain the same! Our afternoon started with a bit of Christmas Tree fluffing and decorating and then after a looong year and lots happening we all deserved a bit of pampering at Downtown Nails before joining our partners for a drink at Brewers Apprentice followed by dinner at Arranged Marriage. Merry Christmas everyone!

Wow nearly the end of another month already! Earlier in November we sadly had to say goodbye to Dave who has left us to go home to Korea to have some well earned time with his family. We had a farewell drink at Little Savannah - one of our new locals in our new neighborhood !

14/11/2020

For our Massey Clinic clients - Tennant Drive will be closed from 16 - 20 November so you will need to go via Summerhill and Old West Road to get to our clinic at the Rec Centre. Perhaps allow a little extra time to get there!

ROAD WORKS ON TENNENT DRIVE
16-20 NOVEMBER

Tennent Drive will be closed and traffic coming from Palmerston North will be diverted up Summerhill Drive and on to Old West Rd (SH57). However local residents, Massey traffic and buses will have access to the main entrance via the Tennent Drive ramp as indicated with the green line on map.

Vehicles exiting Massey and heading for Palmerston North, there is no change. Vehicles arriving from Linton will be diverted via Old West Rd (SH57).

[10/11/20]   It's been a busy few weeks - moving out of Ashley St to our temporary premises in the TSB Building and this weekend the final move to our awesome new clinic at 193 Broadway Avenue - that's right next door to the Catholic Cathedral. We have a staff only day on Monday 12th to do the final tidy up and sort out our new digs before opening for real on Tuesday. Our phone number remains the same - 06 354 8008 but everything else is brand new. Watch this space for our new branding, pics of the new clinic and much more!

Here's a fun fact for hump day Wednesday. Did you know that the ponds in the Square Edge corner of the Square are in the shape of a butterfly with the foot bridge being the body? Amazing what you find out being on the 8th floor! Have a great day!

01/10/2020

Check out our awesome view from our temporary premises at Level 8 of the TSB Building ! Why are we there you may ask. Well we are on the move to our new permanent home at 193 Broadway Ave and just needed somewhere to go while our fitout was finished. Not a bad option really but we are really looking forward to getting to our new site and showing off our new brand! Watch this space!

Today is Daffodil Day. A day to remember those we loved and lost to cancer, those who are fighting it right now and survivors. And it is also a day to raise funds to help the fight against cancer so this week we had these wee beauties on sale at the clinic as our fundraiser! They shot out the door and we now have $125 for the Cancer Society! Might have to plant up a few more pots for next year to cope with demand!

From midday today we will be instigating our Covid Level 2 protocols. This means increasing our current Level 1cleaning, sanitizing, distancing and contact tracing to keep you, our staff and the community safe. If you are unwell please contact our admin team and we can either reschedule your appointment or arrange for a telehealth appointment. Stay safe out there!

As of 12 noon on Wednesday 12 August, Auckland will move to Alert Level 3. The rest of New Zealand will move to Alert Level 2.

What does this mean for Auckland?

Under Alert Level 3, you are encouraged work from home if you can.

If you are currently in Auckland and do not live in Auckland, we suggest that you go home. Practise good hygiene and be conscious of your health. We recommend that you keep your bubble small.

Businesses are able to open, but should not physically interact with customers. Essential services including healthcare, justice services and businesses providing necessities are able to open. Bars and restaurants should close, but takeaways are allowed.

Schools in Auckland should close, except for children of essential workers. We encourage students to learn from home if possible.

Maintain physical distancing of 2 metres outside your home, including on public transport and it is highly recommended that you wear a mask if you are out and about.

Public transport can continue to operate with strict health and safety requirements. You should maintain physical distancing and wearing a mask.

Public venues should close. This includes libraries, museums, cinemas, food courts, gyms, pools, playgrounds and markets.

Gatherings of up to 10 people can continue, but only for wedding services, funerals and tangihanga. Physical distancing and public health measures should be maintained.

Inter-regional travel is highly limited to, for example, essential workers, with limited exemptions for others.

People at high risk of severe illness such as older people and those with existing medical conditions are encouraged to stay at home where possible, and take additional precautions when leaving home.

What does this mean for the rest of New Zealand?

The rest of New Zealand will go into Alert Level 2 on 12 noon on Wednesday 12 August. You can still continue to go to work and school, with physical distancing.

Wear masks if you can in public.

No more than 100 people at gatherings, including weddings, birthdays, funerals and tangihanga.

Businesses can open to the public if they are following public health guidance, which include physical distancing and record keeping.

People at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19, for example those with underlying medical conditions and old people are encouraged to take additional precautions when leaving home.

Practice good hygiene - stay home if sick.

So good to see most of these smiling faces in person in the clinic today! We are open for in clinic face to face appointments but we continue to do Telehealth as well and this is the preferred option for the Ministry of Health while we are in Level 2. Got a lockdown injury, ache or pain? - get in touch 06 3548008 or [email protected]

12/05/2020

With the change to Level 2 Covid-19 Restrictions we will be able to see clients in the clinic from Thursday 14 May. The Ministry of Health and Physiotherapy Board advise that Telehealth is still the preferred option but that in clinic appointments are allowed with precautions. We take the safety of our staff, clients and community seriously and here are a few of the things we are doing for this. All appointments must be made via phone where initial screening will occur. To make an appointment please ring 06 3548008 or email us [email protected]
