Sometimes, all it takes is a tidy-up, a touch of brow pencil, and you’re good to go ✨

Regular brow grooming can actually create the illusion of fuller, denser brows. Leaving them to grow right out can sometimes emphasise gaps and make the overall shape look less defined.

For this client, all I’ve done is threaded and trimmed her brows, nothing dramatic.

I then applied a tiny wash of brow pencil and used a pin-sized amount of concealer on a flat brush, running it along the base of the brow from tail to head. This gives the brows a clean baseline, adds definition and instantly makes them look more polished.

I love teaching my clients these little tricks. I’ll often hand them the mirror and get them to watch what I’m doing, and they’re usually surprised by just how simple it is!

In 2017, I began my journey into cosmetic tattooing with no real idea of where it would lead. At the time, there were only a handful of us offering cosmetic tattooing in New Zealand, and I simply knew I wanted to create something I truly loved.

After my first training, I remember thinking I had learnt everything I needed. I had invested over $20,000 and felt so excited about what was ahead. Looking back now, I smile because that was really just the beginning. It became the start of a lifelong commitment to learning, refining my skills, and continually investing in myself and my business.

I wanted to take a path that felt true to me, even if it looked a little different. That came with both encouragement and criticism, but I’m grateful I trusted my instincts and stayed true to my vision.

From the outside, cosmetic tattooing can sometimes look simple. What isn’t always seen are the countless hours of training, ongoing education, new machines and supplies, behind-the-scenes admin, social media, long days, and the physical and mental commitment that comes with striving to provide the very best for every client.

Today, I feel incredibly grateful. Not just for the achievements, but for every lesson, every challenge, every risk, and every person who has supported and believed in me along the way. Those experiences have shaped both the business and the person I am today.
