Where the Ideas Come From

People sometimes ask where I get the ideas for my nail designs.

The answer is pretty much everywhere.

It can be a colour combination I notice, a piece of artwork, something a client tells me, a mood, a tiny detail I spot somewhere, or even a book.

Sometimes I know exactly where a design is heading before I start. Other times, one little idea turns into something completely different once I begin creating.

That’s one of my favourite parts of nail art. Inspiration can start anywhere, and then become something made specifically for the person wearing it.

A little Sunday Catch-Up

The first week of September is already done, and it’s been a little bit of everything.

There’s been client creativity, nail art, plenty happening behind the scenes and, as always, more learning along the way.

I love seeing how different every set can be depending on the person sitting across from me. No two appointments or ideas are ever quite the same.

And September is only just getting started.

There’s more art, more stories and something a little book-inspired starting to take shape behind the scenes too.

Between Two Mountains 🏔️

Inspired by a love of mountains, snow and days spent skiing, this set brings together brilliant blue skies, sweeping white strokes and touches of gold.

The flashes of gold capture that golden-hour moment when the last light catches the mountains, while each nail flows a little differently across the set.

Bright, adventurous and completely her. 💙

Why Nail Prep Matters

Good nails start before the colour or nail art ever goes on.

Nail prep is one of those parts of an appointment that might not look very exciting, but it plays a big part in how well your nails last.

I’m looking at the condition of your natural nails, preparing the nail correctly and making sure I have the right foundation before applying any product.

Because good retention isn’t just about what goes on top. Proper preparation, correct application and looking after your nails afterwards all work together.

It’s one of those little behind the scenes steps that makes a big difference.

Where the Wildflowers Begin

Sometimes a new beginning doesn't arrive with everything figured out.

This set started with the idea of a fresh start. Something bright, pretty and full of possibility, while still feeling personal.

So we brought together soft florals, little touches of sparkle and colour, with that slightly whimsical feeling I love creating.

And somewhere along the way, this set became **Where the Wildflowers Begin**.

Because new beginnings don't always need a perfect plan.

Sometimes you just need somewhere to start. 🌿

There’s a lot happening before that tiny brush even touches your nail.

I’m looking at the colours, the shape of your nails, where each little detail will sit and how the design will work across both hands.

Sometimes I know exactly where I’m going.

Sometimes I change my mind halfway through because something else just works better.

That’s the part you don’t always see in the finished photos. The thinking, adjusting, tiny brush strokes and probably me staring at your nail for a few seconds while I work out what it needs next 😂

Because I’m not trying to make ten nails that simply match.

I’m trying to create something that feels like you.

Bold, fast and full of attitude. A purple base layered with colourful graffiti-style linework, inspired by BOP Roller Derby and made to stand out on and off the track.

Silver Lining

Sometimes pretty doesn’t need to be complicated.

A soft blush pink gave her the perfect clean base, with flowing white lines and a touch of silver sparkle adding just enough detail to make them feel special.

Simple, feminine and easy to wear, with a little shimmer that catches the light.
