𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 is a new little Chinese resto we stumbled upon here in Bacolod after seeing it pop up on social media, so we decided to check it out! ❤️

We initially came here because we were craving siopao, but unfortunately, sold out na when we arrived. According to the staff, the owner personally makes their siopao, and for that day, ubos na talaga. Sayang! 😅

Since we were already there, we checked their regular menu and decided to try their 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢 𝐌𝐢 instead. 🍜 We kept our order simple this time since we mainly wanted to check out the place, but they actually offer a wide variety of Chinese dishes.

The food you’ll see in the photos are just some of what they offer. They also have 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐮—we just forgot to take a photo of the menu while we were there. 😅 They have their staple food offerings regularly, while on other days you might also find something new or different depending on what they’ve prepared.

Finally tried 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐲’𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐋𝐋-𝐈𝐍 ₱𝟐𝟗𝟗! 🍕🍗🧀

We’ve been wanting to try this since it was first launched a few months ago, and we finally got the chance just before the promo ends!

For only ₱𝟐𝟗𝟗, you get a complete Super Plate with a main dish, Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, a side, and House Blend Iced Tea — all in one meal.

For our two sets, we chose:

Our total? 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 ₱𝟓𝟗𝟖 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬! And what surprised us even more — 𝐧𝐨 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞. 👌

For ₱299 each, you get a nice variety on one plate, and it’s a pretty sulit way to enjoy several Shakey’s favorites without ordering everything separately.

Simply take the elevator all the way to the top, where you'll find one of the most breathtaking restaurant and bar destinations in the country. 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐲𝐚𝐭𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, making The Peak one of the country's highest restaurant and bar destinations. From up there, you'll be treated to spectacular panoramic views of the Metro Manila skyline.

🌅 The Peak offers both 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, and we highly recommend experiencing both. We arrived at around 𝟓:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌 and chose to stay in the 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚 first so we could enjoy the skyline before sunset. As the sun went down and the city lights gradually came to life, we moved indoors at around 𝟔:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌 for a completely different atmosphere. It honestly felt like enjoying two unique experiences in one visit, making the evening even more memorable.

🍻 Our friend suggested visiting during 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫. When we visited in 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝟓𝟎% 𝐨𝐟𝐟, and we were served 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 while enjoying our drinks. Since promotions may have changed, we recommend checking with The Peak for their latest happy-hour offers before planning your visit.

One of the most unusual places we've visited in Metro Manila was the 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥. It was actually recommended to us by a friend, and we're glad we took the time to visit.

To be honest, I rarely, if ever, see any of my friends visit this place. Yet it's one of those 𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 to enter with a valid government-issued ID.

The cemetery honors thousands of 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐠𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐫 𝐈𝐈. Walking through its beautifully maintained grounds almost feels like stepping into a 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, as it is owned and maintained by the United States government through the American Battle Monuments Commission.

What impressed us most was the 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. It's quiet, beautifully kept, and unlike any other place we've visited in Manila.
