Val Phaedor Azryel A. Meneses, an 11-year-old first-year high school student of Saint Louis School, Inc. (SLSI), has brought pride and honor to his family and the Summer Capital after winning four medals in the Instrumental (Guitar) category of the Performance Arts World Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

He won two gold, one silver and one bronze medal in the prestigious international competition, held from July 13 to 31, 2026, which gathered young artists from 62 countries.

A resident of Lourdes Extension barangay, Meneses said his passion for the guitar began when he was only six years old, as he recalled seeing a guitar lying around their house and, out of curiosity, started tinkering with the instrument.

What began as simple curiosity eventually developed into a serious passion for music.

Despite being a full-time student, Meneses makes it a point to practice the guitar every day as he believes that talent alone is not enough to succeed and that constant practice and dedication are essential to improving one’s skills.

Among his musical idols is the late legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix, as he hopes to pursue his passion for music and become a professional musician someday.

Meneses expressed his gratitude to his parents, Paolo and Marriam, for their encouragement and unwavering support as he continues to develop his skills and pursue his musical aspirations.

Meneses also encouraged fellow young musicians to keep working hard to improve their craft, remain dedicated to their passion and, above all, stay humble despite their achievements.-Gaby B. Keith

It’s Never Too Late to Become Who You Were Meant to Be.

Some people succeed at 25. Others find their breakthrough at 40, 50, or even 60. Life was never meant to follow one timeline.

Maybe you started later. Maybe you spent years building a career, taking care of your family, or simply figuring out what you truly wanted. None of that means you’ve missed your chance.

Every failure taught you something. Every setback made you stronger. Every year gave you wisdom your younger self didn’t have.

So never look at someone else’s journey and think you are behind.

As long as you are willing to learn, take action, and keep moving forward, there is still time to create a different future.

Success has no age limit.

You are never too young to dream big, and never too old to begin again.

Your next chapter can still become your best chapter.
