One approach Allain’s nephrologist is currently focusing on to help lower his creatinine levels is proper weight management. By working on gradual and healthy weight loss through vaccine and portion control, there has already been a noticeable improvement in his blood pressure. While his creatinine levels have not yet shown the desired decrease, he remains hopeful that these positive changes will continue to support and protect his transplanted kidney over time.

Blood extraction for SGOT/SGPT
Allain is currently taking 15 lifetime medications, plus various vaccines, as part of his KT journey. While these are essential to protect his new kidney, they can also put added strain on his liver.
SGOT and SGPT tests help detect early signs of liver stress, since the liver processes most of the medicines he takes daily. By keeping a close watch on these levels, his nephrologist can quickly make adjustments if needed, helping prevent more complications.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support. 🙏
The entire family had been unwell recently, which was a challenging and worrisome time. For Allain, who is a kidney transplant recipient, exposure to a viral infection posed a serious risk. It was a dangerous situation, especially as the wife and children were bed-ridden for a few days. Yet, in His infinite mercy and divine protection, the Lord shielded Allain from a second infection, even as his persistent cough lingered for nearly two months.
Meanwhile, his creatinine level rose again from 1.71 to 1.78, still beyond the normal range of 0.8-1.14. Allain celebrated his 8th KT monthsary this April 11. His nephrologist mentioned that if this level does not improve within the year, it may indicate that his current kidney function remains as is. While his level is still elevated, we thank the Lord because, by His grace, it is quite an improvement from before the transplant. The doctor also mentioned there may be hope to bring it down further through efforts like weight management.
In fact, Allain has been diligently working on losing weight, going from 98 kilograms to 81. Since his donor was his sister, losing weight could help better match his female kidney to his body built, and may positively impact his creatinine levels. We are then prayerfully looking forward to better results on his upcoming lab tests and assess if this approach is helping.
Amidst all these health challenges, we are also burdened by the current world oil crisis. The rising costs of medicines and monthly laboratory expenses have become overwhelming, stretching our family’s resources beyond what we can sustain.
Lord, we place our trust completely in Your miraculous provision. We believe that You will supply all our needs according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus. We thank You for Your faithfulness, for being our healer, our provider, and our refuge. We cling to Your promises and trust that You are working all things for our good. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. 🙏
