REGION 8 MOST WANTED FOR R**E, LASCIVIOUS CONDUCT ARRESTED IN PNP MANHUNT OPERATION
The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., intensified its campaign against wanted persons following the arrest of the No. 7 Most Wanted Person at the provincial level in Police Regional Office 8 during an operation conducted on May 19, 2026, in Brgy. SMO. Rosario, Naval, Biliran.
Personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Biliran Provincial Field Unit, serving as lead unit together with the Naval Municipal Police Station and Biliran Police Provincial Office, arrested a male accused by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for seven counts of Lascivious Conduct with recommended bail amounting to PhP1,400,000.00, and four counts of R**e with no bail recommended. The accused is presently under the custody of CIDG Biliran PFU pending proper judicial proceedings.
PGEN Nartatez stressed that the arrest demonstrates the unwavering resolve of the PNP to locate and arrest individuals accused of grave offenses, particularly crimes committed against women and children. “The PNP will continue to run after fugitives facing serious criminal charges and ensure that they are brought before the courts to answer for their actions. Walang puwang sa lipunan ang mga nang-aabuso at nagtatago sa batas,” he said.
The operation also highlights the continuing implementation of the PNP Focused Agenda—an operational framework for institutional transformation designed to make police service more responsive, reliable, and accountable to the Filipino people. In line with its key priority on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, the PNP continues to strengthen intelligence-driven manhunt operations and reinforce its law enforcement actions against wanted persons involved in heinous crimes.
PGEN Nartatez likewise warned that the PNP remains relentless in pursuing offenders attempting to evade justice. “Our law enforcement actions will remain firm and unyielding against individuals accused of r**e and other violent crimes. Hindi namin hahayaang makaiwas sa pananagutan ang sinumang lumalapastangan sa dangal at karapatan mga kababaihan,” he added.
As the PNP sustains its intensified campaign against wanted persons and other lawless elements under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman”.

PNP STATEMENT ON THE DOJ DIRECTIVE TO EFFECT THE ARREST OF SENATOR RONALD “BATO” DELA ROSA
The Philippine National Police (PNP) takes note of the directive issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ) directing the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to effect the warrant of arrest against Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa.
The PNP respects the processes of the justice system and recognizes the authority of competent government agencies in the implementation of lawful orders.
As a law enforcement agency, the PNP shall perform its mandate in accordance with existing laws, due process, and established operational procedures.
The PNP likewise assures the public that all actions undertaken shall remain impartial, professional, and within the bounds of the law, with full respect for the constitutional rights of all parties concerned.

PNP NATIONWIDE ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUG OPERATIONS NET ₱15.48M WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS, 10 ARRESTED
Intensified anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) across several regions from May 20 to early May 21, 2026 resulted in the arrest of 10 suspects and the seizure of an estimated ₱15.48 million worth of suspected illegal drugs.
In Quezon City, operatives recovered more than 1,500 capsules suspected to be ecstasy during a coordinated operation in the afternoon of May 20, with an estimated value of ₱2,631,600.00.
In Iloilo City and Santa Barbara, Iloilo, separate buy-bust operations led to the arrest of two high-value individuals and the confiscation of more than 300 grams of suspected shabu with a combined estimated value of ₱2,380,000.00.
In Oriental Mindoro, joint police units implementing search warrants arrested a suspect and seized more than 750 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱4,900,000.00, along with a firearm and ammunition. One additional suspect remains at large and is now the subject of follow-up operations.
In Batangas City, another buy-bust operation resulted in the arrest of two high-value individuals and the confiscation of over 200 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱1,426,232.00.
In Camarines Norte, separate anti-drug operations led to the arrest of suspects and the seizure of nearly 460 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱3,128,000.00.
In South Cotabato, coordinated police operations led to the arrest of suspects and the recovery of around 150 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱1,020,000.00.
All confiscated evidence has been turned over to the PNP Forensic Group for laboratory examination, while appropriate charges are being prepared against the arrested individuals.
These operational accomplishments support the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to intensify the government’s campaign against illegal drugs and criminality under the PNP Focused Agenda on Enhanced Managing Police Operations.
PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for their sustained efforts, highlighting discipline, coordination, and professionalism in all operations.
“Ang tagumpay ng ating mga operasyon ay patunay ng dedikasyon ng ating mga pulis at ng pakikipagtulungan ng mamamayan. Kasama ang komunidad, tuloy-tuloy ang ating laban kontra ilegal na droga. The PNP will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations to ensure that illegal drug personalities are arrested and brought before the courts,” PGen Nartatez said.
The PNP reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven anti-illegal drug operations and ensuring safer communities under the vision of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

HOSTAGE INCIDENT SA BATAAN, MAPAYAPANG NARESOLBA NG PNP
Mapayapang naresolba ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang isang hostage-taking incident sa Orion, Bataan noong Mayo 19, 2026, kung saan nailigtas ang isang babae matapos ang maingat na negosasyon ng mga awtoridad.
Batay sa ulat, agad na rumesponde ang mga pulis ng Orion Municipal Police Station matapos makatanggap ng tawag mula sa barangay hinggil sa isang lalaking armado ng patalim na umano’y nagbihag sa kanyang asawa sa loob ng kanilang bahay.
Pagdating ng mga pulis sa lugar, nadatnan ang suspek na hawak sa leeg ang biktima habang tinututukan ng kutsilyo at nagbabanta umano na sasaktan ang biktima. Sa kabila ng tensyonadong sitwasyon, nanatiling kalmado at maingat ang mga awtoridad upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng biktima at maiwasan ang anumang kapahamakan.
Dumating sa lugar sina PCOL Maritess A. Salvadora, Provincial Director ng Bataan PPO, at PMAJ Madtaib M. Jalman, Chief of Police ng Orion MPS, upang pangunahan ang negosasyon sa suspek. Sa pamamagitan ng tuloy-tuloy na pakikipag-usap at mahinahong paghawak sa sitwasyon, boluntaryong sumuko ang suspek at walang sinuman ang nasaktan.
Narekober sa lugar ang isang kitchen knife at isang gunting na may matulis na dulo na ginamit umano ng suspek sa pananakot sa biktima.
Pinuri ni Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. ang ipinakitang propesyonalismo, disiplina, at malasakit ng mga pulis na rumesponde sa insidente.
“Sa ganitong klaseng operasyon, pinakamahalaga ang pagprotekta sa buhay. Ipinakita ng ating mga kapulisan ang katatagan, pagpipigil, at malasakit upang maresolba ang sitwasyon nang mapayapa,” ani ni PGen Nartatez.
Dagdag pa niya, “Hindi lang pagpapatupad ng batas ang tungkulin ng PNP. Bahagi rin ng ating tungkulin ang tiyaking ligtas ang mga biktima at may agarang tulong at proteksyong naibibigay sa oras ng panganib.”
Kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng Orion MPS ang suspek habang inihahanda ang kasong Hostage Taking sa ilalim ng Article 267 ng Revised Penal Code at paglabag sa RA 9262 o Violence Against Women and Their Children Act. Samantala, isinailalim naman sa medico-legal examination at counseling assistance ang biktima sa tulong ng kinauukulang ahensya.
Patuloy na pinaiigting ng PNP ang kakayahan nito sa crisis response at negotiation operations upang matiyak ang kaligtasan at proteksyon ng mamamayan sa panahon ng panganib at krisis. Ito ay alinsunod sa bisyon ng Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
