This is not just a “low iron nails” case.

My client has a history of nail biting, experienced trauma from previous salons (ring of fire), and has been removing her gels improperly (picking them off), which made her nails extremely thin and damaged. She also mentioned doing DIY nails to “save money,” plus her low iron condition—these all contributed to the current state of her nails.

I was honestly hesitant to proceed at first. However, the client requested gel extensions to cover the damage. I agreed with strict conditions:

✔️ She must return after 2 weeks for proper removal
✔️ We will focus on nail recovery and regrowth
✔️ Continuous monitoring to bring her nails back to a healthy state

Her doctor also advised that gel can help protect her nails while they grow—so to clarify, this is NOT caused by gel itself, but by improper removal, picking, and previous damage.

Proper removal is VERY important. Picking or forcing products off will only damage your natural nails.

Always assess first. Don’t be afraid to set boundaries or conditions before proceeding with compromised nails. Our goal is not just aesthetics, but nail health.
