What Is Your Skin Telling You
by Melissa Ambrosini ( Path to Wellness )
Acne and problematic skin are your body’s way of telling you something is not quite right. It doesn’t mean run to the doctor and get a prescription for roaccutane, steroids or antibiotics. This is called the band-aid effect. We need to get to the root cause of why your skin is breaking out.

This is where face mapping comes in. Face mapping unlocks the mysteries behind problematic skin. Thanks to the combined knowledge of dermatologist (who analyzed skin behaviors) and ancient Chinese medicinal methods.

Different areas on your face correspond to different problems. Using this map you can determine how to prevent them from recurring.

Using the face mapping method to decode what’s going on with your body is both incredibly informative and very extensive if you ask me. Here is an overview of the basic areas and what breakouts or abnormalities in those areas mean:
Zone 1 & 3:
Bladder & Digestive System — Improve your diet and drink more water.
Zone 2:
Liver — Try cutting back on alcohol, heavy food or dairy. This area can also indicate a food allergy.
Zone 4 & 10:
Kidneys — Make sure you’re keeping yourself hydrated with water and cut back on liquids that dehydrate you. This means nix the soda, coffee and/or alcohol.
Zone 5 & 9:
Respiratory system — Those who smoke or have allergies tend to have acne here.
Zone 6 & 8:
Kidneys — Dark circles are usually a result of dehydration. Drink up!
Zone 7:
Heart — Check your blood pressure and make sure you’re not using makeup that irritates your skin.
Zone 12:
Stomach — Consider a detox or adding more fiber to your diet to help with digestion.
Zone 11 & 13:
Hormones — Stress and hormonal changes can sometimes be alleviated with more water and a few extra servings of dark, leafy greens but if breakouts in this area persistent, make an appointment with your doctor to look into a possible hormonal imbalance. Additionally, breakouts in this area also indicate when you are ovulating (and which side).
Zone 14:
Illness — Can be a sign of your body fighting bacteria to avoid illness. Take a breather and drink plenty of fluids.
Please note these are general guidelines. Just because you breakout on your nose doesn’t mean you have a heart problem. As with all medical issues, it is always best to see your doctor or dermotologist for a proper prognosis.

Lemon Leg Wrap As Natural Fever Support

The next time you or someone you love has a fever, be sure to get all the usual stuff done: get them in bed, get a cold compress on their forehead, get a lemon leg wrap around their leg…wait, what was that last part?

Yes, a lemon leg wrap could actually help you or your loved ones by bringing down the fever a bit. The lemon is a great way to draw out toxins from your body, while the moisture of the leg wrap helps bring down your temperature.

Lemon, when applied in the method described below, will help to alleviate the child’s discomfort while allowing the fever to continue burning. The child may appear more alert and clear, and even ask for food, but the temperature will not be forced into suppression, thus allowed to finish its job.

So don’t forget to buy some lemons, when you go out to do your grocery.

Note : In Anthroposophical Medicine (and conventional medicine ) a fever is important to the healing process when you are sick because it strengthens the immune system. Try your best not to suppress fever in your home but instead to make your child as comfortable as possible and to draw a high fever away from their heads- in order to keep the warmth well-distributed so that all body parts are of the same temperature. 'High temperature comfort limit' is a little less than the Anthroposophical Medicine's recommendations (41˚C) - if their fever ever went above 103.5˚F (40˚C) and isn't budging then give them paracetemol. But , the "Lemon Wrap" has been highly effective at times of need.

How to Make Lemon Socks

Do not use store-bought bottled lemon juice, as the energetics will be lost in a processed product so far removed from the actual lemon.
You will need:
2-4 lemons, depending on their juiciness
Hot filtered water
A medium sized bowl
2 thin wash cloths or flannels (I used cut up flannel swaddle blankets)
2 large wool socks – use heavy cotton if you do not have wool, but do not use synthetic fiber. I found that an adult sock worked best for my five year old once it was slipped over the hot flannel.

Lemon Socks Method:

If you are using store bought lemons, first pour some boiling water over the lemons to remove any wax that has been added to prolong the lemons’ shelf life (this goes for organic lemons too!)
Place the cloths into the bowl.
Squeeze the lemons completely, making sure to juice all the way to the pulp and squeeze the skin gently into the juice to include some of the oil from the rind.
Pour the lemon juice onto the cloth in the bowl.
Add just enough hot water to drench the cloth.
At your child’s bed, let your little one know what you are going to do. Tell him that it won’t hurt a bit and will help him to feel better.
Wring out one cloth into the bowl making sure it is hot but not burning, quickly wrap it around your child’s foot, and cover with the wool sock.
Repeat the wringing, wrapping, and covering with the second foot.
Gently tuck your little one’s feet under the covers.
Within 15-30 minutes you may notice a shift in your child’s comfort level.
With a high fever, you may notice that the socks dry surprisingly fast. You can repeat the process as often as you’d like, using your child’s demeanor and your intuition as guides.

The most important thing during a fever is to help a child stay hydrated, rested, and comfortable.
