Aporawan Beach in Aborlan shows a different side of Palawan—long, open, and framed by coconut trees along the shore. MARCH 2026: Marking the Anniversary of the Battle of Manila — In March 1945, the Battle of Manila came to an end after weeks of fierce fighting that claimed the lives of more than 100,000 innocent civilians and left much of the city in ruins. What began in early February as a mission to liberate the capital ended with the defeat of Japanese forces entrenched across Manila, including within the walls of Intramuros. The Memorare Manila 1945 Monument, sculpted by Peter de Guzman and located in Plazuela de Santa Isabel, at the corner of General Luna and Anda Streets, stands as a solemn tribute to the civilians whose lives were forever changed, reminding us of the courage, resilience, and heart of the Filipino people.

Etched into its base are the words by National Artist Nick Joaquin:

"This memorial is dedicated to all those innocent victims of war, many of whom went nameless and unknown to a common grave, or even never knew a grave at all, their bodies having been consumed by fire or crushed to dust beneath the rubble of ruins. Let this monument be the gravestone for each and every one of the over 100,000 men, women, children and infants killed in Manila during its battle of liberation, February 3 – March 3, 1945. We have not forgotten them, nor shall we ever forget. May they rest in peace as part now of the sacred ground of this city: the Manila of our affections."

The Patis Tito Garden Café compound in San Pablo City is more than a workshop or store — it’s a heritage home where art and craftsmanship come together. Upstairs, the second floor reveals intricate interiors: hand-carved woodwork, detailed moldings, and decorative panels that frame the space like an art piece itself. Every corner shows thoughtful design, blending functionality with artistry.

In the gallery areas, visitors can see garments, embroidered textiles, dolls, and other curated pieces, alongside hand-drawn sketches by Patis Tesoro. These drawings reflect her creative process and provide insight into how her designs move from concept to finished product. The combination of architectural details, curated works, and drawings creates a layered narrative of Filipino artistry across mediums.

This visit is part of a Department of Tourism Calabarzon Office) initiative, in collaboration with Office of the City Tourism Officer - OCTO San Pablo and the San Pablo Art Circuit (SAPAC). It highlights how heritage homes can function as active creative spaces where traditional and contemporary Filipino arts coexist.
