KAPITid, please help us send water and food for families displaced by typhoon Crising in Zamboanga Sibugay!

As of 8 AM on Sunday, the tropical storm Crising has sent 6,384 individuals in seven evacuation centers. It hit 25 villages located in four low-lying towns in Zamboanga Sibugay province after flash floods occured. Municipalities of Kumalarang and Bayog in Zamboanga Del Sur were also affected displacing hundreds of families.

We were informed by a fellow youth leader from Zamboanga City that besides food, they would need drinking water. We hope you can help us raise funds to be able to send it to them ASAP.

We will also mobilize in-kind donations once we organize our on-ground partners in the province who can accept them in our behalf.

Every year on November 1, our country- the Philippines being the largest Christian Country in Asia celebrates and observes All Saints' Day or what we call Undas, which extends until the 2nd of November or All Souls Day. Aside from celebrating the saints who were and were not awarded their feasts, we Filipinos together with our families also camp overnight in the cemeteries to pay respect to the graves of our ancestors.

This year is not the kind of UNDAS that we imagined. For the Earth’s strongest typhoon of the year 2020, Super Typhoon Rolly made its landfall in many parts of our country affecting many Filipinos. As we celebrate the essential holidays of this month, we request everyone to stay at home, keep informed and stay alert 24/7. Sending all our prayers to everyone.
