Someone once asked me, “Who is your TOTGA?”

THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY

I thought about it for a while… because when we hear “TOTGA,” we usually think of the person we lost, the one we never got to keep, or the love story that never had its ending.

But as I got older, I realized something…

Maybe not everyone who leaves was meant to stay.

Some people come into our lives to teach us.
Some come to break us, only to show us how strong we can become.
Some relationships end because we were holding onto something that God was trying to remove.

And sometimes, what we thought was a heartbreak… was actually God’s protection.

Because life will introduce you to many people.
Some will make you smile.
Some will give you memories.
Some will stay for a season.
And some will leave you asking, “What if?”

But then, one day, God allows someone into your life who makes you understand why the others never worked out.

Not someone perfect.
Not a relationship without problems.
But someone you can grow with.
Someone you can forgive.
Someone who chooses you even when choosing you isn’t easy.

And suddenly, you stop looking back at the ones who got away…

Because you finally realize why God let them go.

So today, if someone asks me,

“Who is your TOTGA?”

It’s…

T.O.T.G.A. — The One That God Allowed. 💕🙏

The one God allowed to cross my path.
The one God allowed to stay.
The one God allowed me to love.

The biggest realization is:

Sometimes, the person we begged God to keep was never the blessing.
The blessing was the person God sent after we finally learned to let go.

So maybe your “TOTGA” isn’t the person you lost.

Maybe your TOTGA is the person God allowed you to find. 🙏❤️



P.S. Maybe we should stop romanticizing “the one that got away.”

Because if they truly got away, maybe they were never meant to stay.

And when you finally have the right person beside you, you won’t feel the need to look back at who left.

Because sometimes, losing someone isn’t a loss, it’s God making room for the one He intended to stay. 💕

And maybe that’s the real closure: realizing you didn’t lose “THE ONE.”

You simply made room for THE RIGHT ONE.
