The covenant includes national restoration, complete forgiveness of sins, and God writing His law in their hearts (Jeremiah 31:33-34). This is part of Israelโs kingdom program, still future in its full fulfillment.

According to the revelation given to Paul (Romans through Philemon), the Church, the Body of Christ, is a mystery, not prophesied in the Old Testament (Ephesians 3:5-6). Therefore, we are not the covenant people of Jeremiah 31. Instead, we are saved by grace through faith, apart from Israelโs covenants.

๐ AVOIDING UNPROFITABLE DISPUTES ๐
1 Timothy 1:4 (KJV)
โNeither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.โ
Titus 3:9 (KJV)
โBut avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.โ
Paulโs instruction in 1 Timothy 1:4 and Titus 3:9 is a clear warning to believers not to get caught up in things that distract from sound doctrine and the truth of the Gospel. In 1 Timothy 1:4, he tells us not to give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which only minister questions rather than godly edifying which is in faith. The issue is not simply the content of these things, but what they produce. They stir curiosity, speculation, and confusion, but they do not build up the believer in truth. Instead of strengthening faith, they lead to more questions without answers, pulling attention away from what actually mattersโunderstanding the Gospel and growing in grace.
In Titus 3:9, Paul strengthens this warning by saying to avoid foolish questions, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law, because they are unprofitable and vain. This goes beyond just ignoring these thingsโit is an instruction to actively stay away from them. These types of discussions often revolve around arguments, legalism, and attempts to prove righteousness through the law, none of which produce spiritual growth. They may appear deep or intellectual, but in reality, they are empty and without true benefit. They do not lead to clarity or edification, but instead create division and confusion among believers.
When we put these two passages together, the message becomes very clear: not everything that sounds spiritual is profitable. If something does not build up your understanding of the truth and strengthen your faith, it is not worth your attention. Many things today fall into this same categoryโspeculative teachings, endless debates, and distractions that pull people away from the simplicity that is in Christ. Paulโs instruction is not to chase every question or engage in every argument, but to remain grounded in the truth that edifies.
For us today, rightly dividing the Word in this dispensation of grace means keeping our focus where it belongsโon the Gospel of Christ and sound doctrine given through Paulโs epistles. We are not under the law, nor are we called to figure out complex systems or chase intellectual debates. We are called to rest in the finished work of Christ and grow in the knowledge of that truth. If something leads to confusion instead of clarity, or questions instead of edification, Paulโs instruction is simple: avoid it. Stay with what builds you up in faith and keeps your eyes on Christ.

๐ 14 BAPTISMSโฆ๐
There are 14 Baptisms in the Bible and only one for us during this Dispensation of Grace!
It is a common mistake to think that water baptism is superior today to other baptisms in the Bible. However, the Bible mentions many baptisms and our one baptism does not include water. Below is a list of distinct baptisms in the Bible including the only one in operation today as taught by Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery.
โ... One Lord, one faith, one baptism, ... โ โ Eph 4:5
The one baptism in operation today is our baptism into Christ by the Spirit. This is the only baptism taught by our Apostle Paul. (1 Cor 12:13; Rom 6:3; Gal 3:27; Col 2:12)
๐ธ1. Noahโs type baptism
Peter mentions that eight people were saved by water in an ark as a type of a future baptism. (Gen 6:13; 1 Peter 3:20ยญ-21)
๐ธ2. Baptism unto Moses
Paul presents Israelโs baptism unto Moses โdry landโ - the water formed a wall on each side (1 Cor 10:2; Exo 14:29)
๐ธ3. Israelโs ceremonial cleansings
These cleansing rituals were required under the Mosaic Law for the cleansing of the people. (Num 19:13; Lev 11:25; Exo 19:14; Exo 30:17ยญ-21; Heb 9:10)
๐ธ4. Levitical priesthood baptisms
These washings were required in order to become a priest under the Law of Moses. (Exo 29:4; Lev 8:6; Num 8:7)
๐ธ5. Traditional Jewish baptisms
These baptisms were not mandated under the Law but were part of Jewish tradition. (Mt 15:1ยญ2; Mk 7:1ยญ9; Lk 11:38)
๐ธ6. Johnโs baptism
John came to Israel baptizing with water for the remission of sins so that they could enter the promised kingdom. (Mt 3:5ยญ6; Mk 1:4; Lk 3:3; Jn 1:31; Lk 7:29; Acts 10:37)
๐ธ7. Jesusโ baptism by John
Jesus, who knew no sin, was baptized by John to fulfill all righteousness. (Mat 3:13ยญ-17; Mk 1:9ยญ-10)
๐ธ8. Baptism with fire
Jesus would baptize the nation with fire as they went through the tribulation and will be purged at His 2nd Coming. (Isa 4:4; Mal 3:2ยญ3; Mt 3:11; Lk 3:16)
๐ธ9. Jesusโ baptism unto death
Jesusโ second baptism which he accomplished at the cross where he was identified with the sins of Israel and the world. (Mt 20:22ยญ-23; Mk 10:38ยญ-39; Luke 12:50)
๐ธ10. Water baptism at the Jewish Feast of Pentecost
Peterโs presentation of water baptism for the remission of sins in the name of Jesus. (Acts 2:38; Mk 16:16; Mt 28:19; Acts 22:16; Eze 36:25)
๐ธ11. Holy Spirit baptism
This is the baptism WITH the Holy Spirit BY Jesus Christ from heaven poured out upon the believing remnant of Israel with signs and powers following. (Isa 44:3; Mt 3:11; Mk 1:8; Lk 24:49; Acts 2:17ยญ-18, 38; Acts 8:15ยญ-17; Acts 11:16)
๐ธ12. Gentile baptism of CorneliusโฆCornelius (a Gentile who was a proselyte that converted to Judaism - he gave alms and blessed Israel) was baptized with the Holy Spirit as a sign to Peter. Peter subsequently baptizes Cornelius and the other Spiritยญfilled Gentiles with water. (Acts 10:45ยญ-48)
๐ธ13. Baptism of the deadโฆthe baptism of sufferingโฆPaul and the others were willing to suffer and be in jeopardy of persecution for the Gospel of Christ. But Paul said all of that would be in vain if there was no resurrectionโฆif Jesus did not rise from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15
๐ธ14. Baptism into Christ
The only baptism taught by Paul which identifies the believer with Christ, his death, and resurrection. This baptism is performed BY the Spirit and does not include water. (1 Cor 12:13; Eph 4:5; Col 2:12; Gal 3:27; Rom 6:3ยญ-4)

๐ TO LIVE IS CHRIST ๐
What does it really mean to live?
Not just exist.
Not just survive.
Not just go through motions.
Paul answers it with piercing clarity:
โFor to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.โ โ Philippians 1:21 KJV
Thatโs not poetry.
Thatโs not exaggeration.
That is a rightly divided, grace-grounded reality for the believer today.
โช๏ธA LIFE WITH ONE AIM
Paul writes again:
โI press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.โ โ Philippians 3:14 KJV
There was something driving him.
Constraining him.
Pulling him forward.
๐ A mark
๐ A goal
๐ A Person
โโฆthat I may win Christ.โ โ Philippians 3:8 KJV
Paul wasnโt chasing religion.
He wasnโt building a system.
He wasnโt trying to earn righteousness.
He already had it.
๐ In Christ
๐ By grace
๐ Through faith
What he pursued was the excellency of the knowledge of Christ.
โช๏ธRIGHTLY DIVIDED โ WHY THIS MATTERS
We must understand this in the light of right division (2 Timothy 2:15).
Paul is not speaking as a kingdom saint under law.
He is writing as:
๐ The apostle of the Gentiles (Romans 11:13)
๐ Revealing the Mystery (Ephesians 3:1โ9)
๐ To the Body of Christ today
This is not Israelโs earthly hope.
This is not law-keeping for blessing.
This is:
๐ Grace, not law
๐ Heavenly calling, not earthly kingdom
๐ Identity in Christ, not performance in the flesh
โช๏ธTHE COMMON CONFUSION
Many read Philippians and turn it into:
๐ A call to self-effort
๐ A demand for religious performance
๐ A burden instead of a motivation
But that misses the foundation.
You donโt live for Christ to be saved.
You live Christ because you are saved.
โช๏ธTHE FOUNDATION โ THE GOSPEL
Before there is pressingโฆ there must be believing.
โChrist died for our sinsโฆ was buriedโฆ and rose again the third dayโฆโ โ 1 Corinthians 15:3โ4 KJV
That finished work is enough.
๐ No law required
๐ No religion needed
๐ No works added
The moment you believe:
๐ You are justified
๐ You are placed in Christ
๐ You are given a heavenly identity
Nowโฆ you can live.
โช๏ธWHERE DOES THE POWER COME FROM?
Hereโs the key:
โBut we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.โ โ 2 Corinthians 4:7 KJV
You are just a vessel.
Fragile.
Weak.
Ordinary.
And thatโs exactly the point.
๐ The power is not in you
๐ The strength is not from you
๐ The glory is not about you
It is Christ in you.
โช๏ธWHO DOES GOD USE?
Paul removes all pride:
โNot many wiseโฆ not many mightyโฆ not many nobleโฆโ โ 1 Corinthians 1:26 KJV
Why?
โThat no flesh should glory in his presence.โ โ 1 Corinthians 1:29 KJV
God chose:
๐ The weak
๐ The foolish
๐ The base
So that everything points to:
๐ Christ as our wisdom
๐ Christ as our righteousness
๐ Christ as our sanctification
๐ Christ as our redemption (1 Cor. 1:30)
โช๏ธWHAT DOES โTO LIVE IS CHRISTโ LOOK LIKE?
Itโs not mystical.
Itโs not complicated.
It is:
๐ Thinking with sound doctrine
๐ Resting in your identity
๐ Growing in the knowledge of Christ
๐ Letting His life be expressed through you
Itโs a life where:
๐ Christ is your focus
๐ Christ is your confidence
๐ Christ is your sufficiency
โช๏ธPRACTICAL HEART CHECK
Let it be simple. Let it be honest.
๐ What is capturing your affection?
๐ What is driving your decisions?
๐ What are you really living for?
Becauseโฆ
๐ What has your heart
๐ Will direct your life
โช๏ธConclusion:
Paul didnโt drift.
He pressed.
He didnโt settle.
He pursued.
He didnโt look back.
He looked to Christ.
And so should we.
๐ Not to earn salvation
๐ But because we already have it
๐ Not in the flesh
๐ But in grace
๐ Not for earth
๐ But for heavenly purpose
So todayโฆ
Choose your definition of living.
โFor to me to live is Christโฆโ
Make it yours.

๐ ANOTHER GOSPEL? GOD FORBID. RIGHTLY DIVIDE OR REMAIN CONFUSED. ๐
โFor if he that cometh preacheth another Jesusโฆ or another gospelโฆ ye might well bear with him.โ
โ 2 Corinthians 11:4 (KJV)
There is a real danger in the church todayโand itโs not always loud, obvious error.
Sometimesโฆ it sounds biblical.
Sometimesโฆ it uses the right words.
But it is not the right message for today.
The Apostle Paul warned of this very thing. With a godly jealousy, he feared that believers would be drawn away from the simplicity that is in Christโjust as Eve was deceived by the serpentโs subtlety (2 Corinthians 11:2โ3 KJV).
And that same subtle confusion is still at work.
โช๏ธTHE ROOT OF THE CONFUSION
Not all gospels in the Bible are the same in application.
Yes, they are all true.
Yes, they are all from God.
But they are not all directed to us today.
When we fail to rightly divide the Word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15), we end up mixing messagesโand that leads to doctrinal chaos.
โข The Gospel of the Kingdom
โข The Gospel of Christ
โข The Gospel of the Grace of God
All are biblical. But they are not identical in audience or purpose.
โช๏ธPROPHECY IS NOT MYSTERY
Scripture makes a clear distinction:
๐ Prophecy โ โspoken since the world beganโ (Acts 3:21 KJV)
๐ Mystery โ โkept secret since the world beganโ (Romans 16:25 KJV)
Godโs prophetic program centers on Israel and an earthly kingdom.
Godโs mystery program, revealed through Paul, centers on the Body of Christ and a heavenly calling.
When you blur that lineโฆ
You lose clarity.
You lose consistency.
You lose confidence in the Word.
โช๏ธWHY RIGHT DIVISION MATTERS
Much of modern confusion comes from trying to force Israelโs kingdom message into this present Dispensation of Grace.
But that program is temporarily set aside (Romans 11:25 KJV).
Today, God is doing something He once kept hiddenโforming the Body of Christ, made up of Jew and Gentile in one new man (Ephesians 2:15 KJV).
And for this present dispensation, God raised up one apostle with one message for us:
โFor I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentilesโฆโ
โ Romans 11:13 (KJV)
Paul is not just an apostleโhe is our pattern for doctrine today.
โช๏ธTHE GOSPEL FOR TODAY
So what message saves today?
Not the gospel of the kingdom.
Not law-keeping.
Not religious performance.
The saving gospel today is found in:
โMoreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospelโฆ how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third dayโฆโ
โ 1 Corinthians 15:1โ4 (KJV)
Salvation is:
๐ By grace
๐ Through faith
๐ In the finished work of Christ alone
No mixture. No additions. No confusion.
โช๏ธDONโT BE CARRIED AWAY
It is possible to be sincereโฆ and still be wrong.
It is possible to love Jesusโฆ and yet follow another message about Him.
Thatโs why Paulโs warning matters now more than ever.
โข Stay grounded in sound doctrine
โข Stay anchored in Paulโs epistles (RomansโPhilemon)
โข Stay focused on your identity in Christ
โช๏ธConclusion:
If we donโt rightly divideโฆ we will wrongly apply.
And when we wrongly applyโฆ we distort the gospel.
But when we see Godโs Word as He divided itโ
everything begins to make sense.
Clarity replaces confusion.
Confidence replaces doubt.
And Christ is magnified exactly as He should be.
Rightly divide the Word. Stand in grace. Preach the gospel that saves today.

Without right division, even sincere believers may apply doctrines that do not belong to the Body of Christ. They may claim promises given to Israel, practice things not instructed for today, or mix law and grace. The problem is not their heart, but their understanding. That is why Paul emphasizes being โ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐๐โ (Romans 16:25), because knowledge of the truth stabilizes the believer.

While many understand that Christ rose from the deadโand rightly rejoice in that glorious truthโfew grasp the full weight of its implications as revealed to the Apostle Paul.
What was once hidden is now made manifest.
According to the revelation of the mystery , the resurrection was not just an event in historyโit was the turning point of everything.
It is a decisive, legal, and transformative event that redefines the believerโs identity, standing, and destiny.
It is the dividing line between two orders of existence.
On one side: sin, law, and death.
On the other: righteousness, grace, and life.
The resurrection was not only Christโs victoryโit was ours.
It secured the complete end of the old man and the creation of a new man in Him.
It means sin has lost its claim.
It means death has lost its power.
It means the believer is no longer who they once were.
๐ง๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐๐ ๐๐ก๐ง ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐๐ ๐ข๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ก.
The law demanded death:

(๐ฅ๐ผ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ฒ:๐ฎ๐ฏ).
But God did not ignore sin or brush it aside.
Through Christ's death for our sins, He bore the penalty :

(๐ญ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ ๐ญ๐ฑ:๐ฏ).
Thus, justice was satisfied in Christ, providing a way for all to receive salvation freely.
When a sinner believes, trusting in Christ's work to alone save them from eternal judgement ,
Christ's crucifixion, death, and burial is counted as theirs.
The judgement Christ faced is counted as that of the old man, thus completing his sentence through Christ!

The corollary is :
โข We are created as a new creature (2 Cor 5:17).
โข We become partakers of eternal life (Titus 1:2).
โข We are made the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21).
โข Sin loses its power (Romans 6:7).
โข We get delivered from the law's reign ( Rom 6:14).
โข Death loses its grip (Rom 6:8-9).
โข We become eternally secure, as those raised from the dead and no longer identified with the old man, whose judgement was completed ( Rom 8:31- 39).
And not only that, we are made to sit with Christ in the heavenly places, where He was exalted after His ressurection.

๐ WALK WITH HIM: FROM THE TRIAL TO THE CROSS โ๏ธ
It had been a long, sleepless night.
They came for Him in the darkness - quiet at first, then suddenly loud. Torches flickering. Voices accusing. Hands grabbing.
The One who had healed the sickโฆ now treated like a criminal.
They took Him first to Annasโฆ then to Caiaphasโฆ then before the council.
It wasnโt a fair trial.
It wasnโt even a real trial.
It was a kangaroo court - false witnesses, twisted words, and men already decided on the verdict before the questioning ever began.
They asked Him questions, not to learn - but to trap.
And when the witnesses couldnโt agreeโฆ they tried again.
Finally, the high priest demandedโฆโTell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.โ
And when Jesus answered, they didnโt rejoiceโฆ
they ripped their clothes in outrage.
โHe hath spoken blasphemy!โ
That was all they needed.
Not truth.
Not evidence.
Just an excuse.
๐ฟ The Abuse Begins
They didnโt wait.
They struck Him.
They spat in His face.
They blindfolded Him and mocked Himโฆ
โProphesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?โ
The very hands He createdโฆ now hitting Him.
The very breath He gave themโฆ now cursing Him.
And He said nothing.
๐ฟ Before Pilate
Morning came. They led Him to Pilate, because they wanted Rome to do what they couldnโt - crucify Him.
Pilate questioned Him carefully.
He could see it.
This wasnโt justice - it was envy. It was hatred.
And Pilate said plainlyโฆโI find in him no fault at all.โ
No fault.
Let that sink in.
The only truly innocent man who ever livedโฆ
declared innocentโฆ
and still condemned.
๐ฟ The Crowd Chooses
Pilate tried to release Him. He offered them a choiceโฆ
โข Jesus
โข Or Barabbas - a known criminal
Surely they would choose Jesus.
But the crowd cried outโฆโNot this man, but Barabbas!โ
And then louderโฆโCrucify him! Crucify him!โ
The voices grew. The pressure mounted. And Pilate, though convinced of His innocence, gave in.
He washed his handsโฆ
but the guilt of that moment could never be washed away.
๐ฟ The Scourging
Before the crossโฆ came the scourging.
They tied Him to a post.
And the Roman soldiers took the whipโembedded with bone and metal.
Each strike tore into His back.
Flesh ripped open.
Blood poured down.
Isaiah had saidโฆโwith his stripes we are healed.โ
Those stripes were not symbolic.
They were real. Violent. Brutal.
๐ฟ The Mocking
Then they mocked Him.
They put a robe on Himโlike a king.
Pressed a crown of thorns into His head. Placed a reed in His hand.
And they bowed before Him in cruel sarcasmโฆโHail, King of the Jews!โ
Then they struck Him again.
Spit on Him again.
Took the reed and beat it into the thorns. Blood ran down His face.
The King of gloryโฆ mocked by His own creation. ๐ช
๐ฟ The Road to Calvary
They laid the cross on His shoulders.
Heavy. Rough. Splintered wood pressing into torn flesh.
He walkedโฆ staggering under the weight.
Every stepโpain.
Every breathโlabored.
Until He could go no further.
They compelled another man to carry the cross behind Him.
And stillโฆ He kept going.
๐ฟ The Crucifixion
They reached Golgotha. They stretched Him out on the cross. And then โ
The hammer fell.
Nails driven through His hands.
Through His feet. Each blow echoing.
They lifted the crossโฆ and dropped it into place.
His body jolted.
And there He hung.
๐ฟ What He Endured on the Cross
For hours, He hung there.
Struggling to breathe.
Pushing up on pierced feet just to take in air. Then collapsing again.
The pain was constant.
Relentless.
The crowd mocked HimโฆโHe saved others; himself he cannot save.โ
But that was the point.
He could have come down.
But if He hadโฆ we would have no hope.
๐ฟ The Greatest Moment
Then came the darkness.
Not just around Himโฆ
but something deeper.
Because on that crossโฆ He was bearing our sin!!
โChrist died for our sinsโฆโ (1 Corinthians 15:3 KJV)
Not His sin. He had none!
Yours.
Mine.
All of it.
And with it came the full weight of judgment.
๐ฟ It Is Finished
And thenโฆAfter everything โ
The beating.
The mocking.
The blood.
The suffering.
He criedโฆโIt is finished.โ
Not โI am finished.โ
But โit is finished.โ
The payment.
The work.
The redemption.
Paid in full โ by His blood.๐ฉธ
๐ฟ Why This Matters
This wasnโt an accident. This wasnโt a tragedy. This was on purpose.
He enduredโฆ
โข The false accusations
โข The unjust trial
โข The brutal suffering
โข The cross
๐๐ผ For you, for me!
โBut God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.โ (Romans 5:8 KJV)
๐ฟ He stood silentโฆ
so you could be forgiven.
He was condemnedโฆ
so you could be justified.
He was woundedโฆ
so you could be healed.
He diedโฆ
so you, and I, could live.

๐ ๐ โ1 CORINTHIANS 5:8 โ LET US KEEP THE FEAST?โ โ
โ๏ธ Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV) ๐
๐๐ป Does 1 Corinthians 5:8 command the Body of Christ to keep the literal feast days?
๐๐ป Is Paul telling believers today to observe Israelโs Passover and Unleavened Bread?
๐๐ป Or is he using feast language spiritually and doctrinally?
๐๐ป How should this verse be understood from a KJV mid-Acts 9 rightly divided dispensational perspective?
That matters, because many believers either:
โ turn Paulโs words into a command to keep Israelโs literal feast calendar
โ ignore the context of 1 Corinthians 5 entirely
โ confuse spiritual application with ceremonial observance
โ or blur Israelโs program and the Body of Christ into one thing
Let Scripture trace the issue. ๐๐ป
๐ THE FIRST THING TO SETTLE โ 1 CORINTHIANS IS WRITTEN TO THE CHURCH, THE BODY OF CHRIST
Paul is not writing to the nation Israel under the law in 1 Corinthians.
He is writing to a local assembly in this present dispensation.
๐ โUnto the church of God which is at Corinthโฆโ (1 Corinthians 1:2 KJV)
And Paul is the apostle of the Gentiles:
๐ โFor I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentilesโฆโ (Romans 11:13 KJV)
**Romans 9-11 is about Israel, and this verse is still true for us.
๐ โBut the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:โ (Acts 9:15 KJV)
So when we come to 1 Corinthians 5:8, we are not reading Moses giving feast legislation to Israel.
We are reading Paul addressing a grace assembly about sin, discipline, purity, and practical holiness.
That already helps us.
So the answer is not:
โ โPaul has now put the Body of Christ under Jewish feast-keepingโ
โ โCorinthians are being told to return to Israelโs calendar lawโ
โ โGrace saints must literally observe Unleavened Bread to obey this verseโ
That would not be rightly divided.
๐ก๏ธ THE CONTEXT OF 1 CORINTHIANS 5 IS CHURCH DISCIPLINE, NOT CALENDAR OBSERVANCE
This chapter is about gross sin in the assembly.
Paul rebukes them because they were tolerating fornication instead of judging the matter.
๐ โIt is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.โ (1 Corinthians 5:1 KJV)
Then he says:
๐ โKnow ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?โ (1 Corinthians 5:6 KJV)
That is the controlling thought.
The issue is not, โHave you kept the annual feast correctly?โ
The issue is, โWhy are you allowing moral and spiritual leaven in the assembly?โ
So when Paul says:
๐ โTherefore let us keep the feastโฆโ (1 Corinthians 5:8 KJV)
the whole context pushes us to understand this spiritually, not ceremonially.
He is using feast imagery to teach purity in the church.
โจ PAUL USES PASSOVER AND UNLEAVENED BREAD LANGUAGE FIGURATIVELY
The immediate verses make that plain:
๐ โPurge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:โ (1 Corinthians 5:7 KJV)
๐ โTherefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.โ (1 Corinthians 5:8 KJV)
Notice what Paul does.
He does not say:
โ keep the feast with literal unleavened bread for seven days
โ go to Jerusalem
โ observe the ordinance according to Moses
โ follow Exodus 12 as a binding practice for the Body of Christ
Instead he explains the meaning himself:
๐ โold leavenโ = malice and wickedness
๐ โunleavened breadโ = sincerity and truth
That is spiritual interpretation inside the passage itself.
Paul is drawing doctrinal application from the typology, not reimposing Jewish ritual.
๐ โCHRIST OUR PASSOVERโ DOES NOT MEAN โKEEP ISRAELโS PASSOVER LAWโ
Paul says:
๐ โFor even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:โ (1 Corinthians 5:7 KJV)
That is a glorious statement.
It shows Christ is the fulfillment of what Passover pointed to.
But fulfillment is not the same as continued legal observance.
That distinction matters.
From a rightly divided dispensational perspective:
โ๏ธ Passover belongs to Israelโs God-given feast system
โ๏ธ Christ fulfills the truth pictured in Passover
โ๏ธ Paul applies that fulfilled truth to the Body of Christ
โ๏ธ but Paul does not put the Church under Israelโs feast law
That is exactly the kind of distinction right division protects.
โ ๏ธ โLET US KEEP THE FEASTโ IS NOT A COMMAND TO KEEP THE LITERAL FEAST DAYS
This is the heart of the question.
When Paul says:
๐ โTherefore let us keep the feastโฆโ (1 Corinthians 5:8 KJV)
he immediately qualifies what he means:
๐ โnot with old leavenโฆ but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.โ
That is not literal feast language in practice.
That is moral and spiritual language in application.
If Paul meant literal observance, we would expect language about days, ceremonies, food laws, temple patterns, or Mosaic instructions.
Instead, he turns the whole matter toward inward and assembly purity.
The meaning is:
โ๏ธ keep the feast in the sense of living in the reality the type pointed to
โ๏ธ put away sin and corruption
โ๏ธ walk in sincerity and truth
โ๏ธ honor Christ the true Passover
โ๏ธ do not treat this as a binding command to observe Israelโs literal feast calendar
That is the clean Pauline reading.
๐ PAUL ELSEWHERE WARNS AGAINST BO***GE TO DAYS AND RELIGIOUS OBSERVANCES
This is another important guardrail.
Paul never places the Body of Christ under Israelโs feast law.
Instead, he warns about being judged in such things.
๐ โLet no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holydayโฆโ (Colossians 2:16 KJV)
And:
๐ โOne man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.โ (Romans 14:5 KJV)
And even more sharply regarding bo***ge to religious observances:
๐ โYe observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of youโฆโ (Galatians 4:10-11 KJV)
So if someone uses 1 Corinthians 5:8 to say:
โ โPaul commands all grace believers to keep the feasts literallyโ
that reading runs against the broader pattern of Pauline doctrine.
Paul does not build a feast-keeping program for the Body of Christ.
He points believers to Christ and to spiritual holiness.
๐ง WHY DOES PAUL USE FEAST LANGUAGE AT ALL?
Because the types are still meaningful.
Right division does not make the Old Testament shadows meaningless.
It puts them in their proper place.
Paul can take Passover and Unleavened Bread imagery and apply it beautifully to the Christian life without making those feasts our law.
That means:
โ๏ธ the type is real
โ๏ธ the imagery is intentional
โ๏ธ Christ is the substance
โ๏ธ the application is spiritual and doctrinal
โ๏ธ the ordinance itself is not imposed on the Body of Christ
So 1 Corinthians 5:8 is not empty metaphor.
It is rich typology brought into Pauline instruction.
๐ฟ WHAT DOES โKEEP THE FEASTโ MEAN PRACTICALLY HERE?
In this chapter, it means believers should live consistently with the truth of Christโs finished work.
Because Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us, the assembly should not tolerate leaven.
Because the old leaven has been judged in principle, believers should walk in practical separation from evil.
Because the true spiritual reality has come, believers should live with:
โ๏ธ sincerity instead of hypocrisy
โ๏ธ truth instead of corruption
โ๏ธ purity instead of tolerated wickedness
โ๏ธ discipline instead of boasting over sin
So โkeep the feastโ here means:
๐๏ธ live in the holy reality that Christโs sacrifice calls for
๐ก๏ธ put away tolerated sin
๐ walk in sincerity and truth
That is far different from saying, โGo keep the Jewish feast days.โ
So we should not say:
โ โFeasts have no meaning for us at allโ
because Paul clearly uses the imagery
But we also should not say:
โ โTherefore the Church must keep Israelโs literal feast daysโ
because Paul does not teach that
Right division avoids both errors.
โจ THE BEST WAY TO READ 1 CORINTHIANS 5:8
Here is the rightly divided sense of the verse:
๐ Christ is our true Passover sacrifice
๐ therefore the believer and the assembly should put away leaven
๐ not literal leaven in a ceremonial sense
๐ but moral and spiritual leaven โ malice and wickedness
๐ and we should live in the unleavened character of sincerity and truth
So the feast is being โkeptโ in its spiritual significance, not by Mosaic ritual observance.
That is why the verse is powerful without becoming legalistic.
๐ So believers should not:
โ turn 1 Corinthians 5:8 into a command for literal Jewish feast observance
โ confuse typology with law
โ merge Israelโs ceremonial program into the Body of Christ
โ ignore Paulโs own explanation in the verse
๐ Believers should:
โ๏ธ see Christ as our Passover
โ๏ธ put away leaven in practice
โ๏ธ walk in sincerity and truth
โ๏ธ appreciate the type without going under the shadow
โจ THE BOTTOM LINE
๐ Paul is not commanding the Body of Christ to keep the literal feasts in 1 Corinthians 5:8
๐ He is using Israelโs feast language to teach a spiritual lesson about holiness, purity, and separation from sin in the assembly
โ ๏ธ The feast days belong to Israelโs program, but Paul draws from their meaning without putting the Church under ceremonial law
๐ก๏ธ So โlet us keep the feastโ means to live in the reality of Christ our Passover with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth โ not to observe the literal Jewish feast calendar as a requirement for this dispensation
Do not confuse figure with command.
Do not confuse fulfillment with observance.
Do not place the Body of Christ under Israelโs feast law.
See Christ in the type.
See holiness in the application.
And stand fast in grace.
