Overgrown quicks. What a pain! When we adopted Tishi her quicks were extremely over grown, the product of a life of neglect. Overgrown quicks make it impossible to adequately cut your dogs nails, they make the process uncomfortable and contribute to aversions to nail trims.

The good news is, there’s a gentler approach to reaching adequate nail length. A dogs body is amazing, and quicks will actually recede within a few days of a nail trim. This means you can cut just before the quick, and return a few days later to cut the nail even shorter.

It takes patience, and remember to make it a positive experience. Treats, praise & affection!
🐾 We do recommend getting formal instruction on how to safely cut nails, especially if your #dogs nails are black, concealing the quick.
