Glow Origins Story : Happy Skin, My One Happy Glow

Looking back, I can honestly say that my years at Happy Skin were one of the biggest blessings of my career. It was a season that brought me to places I never imagined I would go, literally and creatively.

As Product Development Head, I had the privilege of working closely with some of the best beauty laboratories in the world - in Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, the true beauty capitals that shaped our industry. To learn from their labs, to study their textures and technologies, and to co-create products with them…oh boy it was a dream I didn’t even know I had!

Happy Skin was built on a simple but revolutionary idea: makeup that’s actually good for your skin.
Makeup that cares. Makeup that comforts. Makeup that lets you love being in your own skin.

Being part of a brand with such a clear purpose truly formed me. I got to help build something from scratch - from concept, to texture, to formula, to packaging, to shade names. I was able to work with the best partners, marketers, entrepreneurs, and creatives whose passion inspired me daily. I got to train beauty advisors and got to witness firsthand how a good product and a good experience can make someone feel great.

I’ll never forget the Shut Up & Kiss Me Lippies (forever Honeymoon Glow), the launches, the long nights, the laughter, the lessons, and the people who poured their hearts into a crazy dream that somehow came to life.

Even after moving on after the first four years, I will always hold that chapter with intense gratitude. Happy Skin carved a big part of who I am today - as a creator, a beauty advocate, and a woman who believes deeply in the power of products made with integrity and intention.

It taught me that beauty isn’t just about looking good. It’s about caring well. For me, it is a glow I continue to carry into everything I do.

In 2012, we built something the Philippine beauty industry had never seen before- a sampling website where you could try before you buy.

Back then, beauty felt like a gamble. You’d buy a product hoping it would work, only to feel disappointed when it didn’t. We wanted to change that - to create a space where women could test, learn, and make confident choices about what truly worked for them.

Together with my co-founders, we launched Sample Room PH - not just a website, but a community. We invited people to try products, share honest reviews, and empower others to do the same. That simple idea, “try before you buy,” became a movement that helped redefine how brands and customers connect.

But what I cherish most aren’t just the samples, but it’s the people and partnerships that made it possible.
The generous brands who believed in our mission and supported us with open hands.
The incredible influencers and members who poured their authenticity and joy into every review and event.
And my co-founders — the best at what they do, who gave this project their heart and soul.

Together, we built something that wasn’t just about beauty, but it was about trust, connection, and purpose.

Looking back, Sample Room reminded me that real beauty isn’t about selling - it’s about serving. And that trust, once earned, becomes the foundation for everything else you build.

It was a glow I still carry — one that taught me that when you put people first, everything beautiful naturally follows.

Charm Makeup Brushes (2008)

Before Happy Skin… before skincare and soulcare…

There was Charm — my very, very first baby. 💕

There was a time I was so obsessed with makeup that I studied it here and flew to Singapore for Advanced Bridal Makeup, all funded by my beauty blog! 🙈

But I had one big frustration:
Good brushes were expensive.
Especially for us mineral makeup lovers.

So I made my own. 💗

I launched Charm Essentials — pink-handled brushes I designed with love, purpose, and performance in mind. They were affordable, too!

From Multiply meetups to store shelves, magazine features, Cosmo Beauty Awards, and even bazaars with my dad helping me carry boxes… Charm was a dream ❤️❤️❤️

I later created Soffia, my ultra-luxury brush line — and to this day, I still believe there’s nothing like it 😉😉😉

Looking back now, I see God’s hand in my journey.
Charm was one of the first puzzle pieces in my story.

For everyone who believed in me, supported and walked this Charm/MMU journey with me, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
From brushes to soulcare — beauty has always been my love language.
