The Dr. Tam Vegan Association of the Philippines (DTVAP) is a non–stock, non-profit organization. Established on May 2003, with approximately 5000 members nationwide DTVAP conducts annual conventions to update, propagate and continue the vegan advocacy.To prevent degenerative disease and promote a healthy lifestyle, the Vegan lifestyle is highly encouraged as a daily practice for every individual, family or community.
In the early nineties, health advocates headed by Dr. Tam Mateo worked independent missionaries for regular lecture sessions to small groups, churches and communities. In addition to doing patient-care assistance through dietary and natural modalities throughout the country, the missions disseminated the importance of natural healing.
By 1998, the message of Naturopathy and healing the natural way went on air through AM radio station DWAD 1098. Every Sunday, the program entitled “KAALAMANG PANGKALUSUGAN” which is also a foundation in itself further emphasized the importance of taking proper care of one’s health. The movement had reached monumental growth in 2000 with the set up of a regular seminar on health education, focusing on vegetarianism and a Naturophatic approach to diseases. The topic now reached higher acclaim, broadcasting on nearly all AM stations earning Dr. Tam Mateo and Eileen Baylon a regular spot on DWIZ 594 Khz for more than 2 years.
Dr. Tam Mateo embarked on a new media to continue his advocacy; television interviews on “Salamat Dok” gave his mission its biggest break. His expertise and credibility made him one of the show’s frequent guests since his first appearance in February of 2006.
More and more disease-afflicted people discovered natural healing, rejuvenation, regeneration and a more youthful life as a result of Dr. Tam and the DTVAP movement. Its increasing number nurtures, encourages, inspires and motivates people, urging them to embrace God’s plan of a natural diet.
