Low-carbers now know so well that when eating out, Korean restaurants would always be the first option because the grilled meat is easily low-carb. Always choose the plain meats vs the marinated ones and avoid the sweet banchan (side dishes). You also need to take note that though plain meat is low-carb, excessive protein intake can lead to gluconeogenesis wherein protein is converted to glucose so always count your macros. Key is everything in moderation. Eat when hungry and stop when full. Enjoy! 🙂

Sinuglaw
Ingredients:
1 kilo pork liempo
1 large cucumber
1/4 cup chopped ginger
1/2 garlic, chopped
2 onions, chopped
3 green chili; sliced
Vinegar
Calamansi juice
Salt
Pepper
Procedure:
1. Season liempo with salt and pepper and fry in coconut oil.
2. Chop fried liempo to bite size pieces.
3. In a large bowl, mix everything together and adjust seasoning according to taste.
Enjoy!

What I miss about being on a low-carb diet are these kinds of fruits! They are packed with fiber and vitamins but loaded with sugar. Stick to the berry family like strawberries and blueberries and everything in moderation.

Low-carb Baked Shrimp
Recipe:
1/2 block (125g)
cream cheese
1/4 cup Kewpie Mayo
1/4 cup all-purpose or heavy cream
2 tbsp garlic, minced
1 tbsp calamansi or lemon juice
Pepper
Fresh or dried parsley
3 tbsp parmesan cheese
Additional parmesan cheese for the topping
