I’ve been seeing a lot of people wanting nail extensions to last for 3 months. Please, this is NOT advisable.

Yes, retention is important, but nail extensions are not meant to stay on forever without proper maintenance. A lot of damage can happen when extensions are left on too long, especially for clients with fast nail growth.

Minsan may nakikita ako nagtatanong bakit daw nakaangat, white, or masakit na sa dulo ng nails. These things happen because the structure is already off balance. Habang humahaba ang natural nail, gumagalaw din ang apex palayo sa tamang position.

Kapag mali na ang apex placement:
• mas mataas ang pressure sa dulo ng kuko
• mas madaling mag lift
• puwedeng magkaroon ng separation sa natural nail
• higher risk of breakage and damage

Hindi porket nakakapit pa ang extensions, healthy pa sila. Retention alone does not equal safe nails.

For most clients, 3 to 5 weeks with proper maintenance is already good retention. Beyond that, risky na especially if mabilis humaba ang nails.

Healthy nails first, always.
