BYD’s upcoming New Energy Vehicle (NEV) assembly plant near Gharo, Sindh, remains on track, with production expected to begin in the second half of 2026.

Backed by an investment of approximately $150 million, the facility is planned to have an annual production capacity of 25,000 vehicles.

The company initially entered Pakistan through imported completely built-up (CBU) units before moving toward local assembly.

Construction of the plant has been underway since early 2025 as part of BYD’s strategy to expand its presence in Pakistan’s growing electric and hybrid vehicle market.
