100 Government Lady Health Workers from Gilgit, Hunza, and Ghizer were trained under Tandurusti Community Wellness Programme, incorporating aspects of mental health and wellness.

The session was designed to enhance community-based health promotion, early identification of mental health concerns, and referral pathways. The initiative is part of AKHSP’s AKDN Integrated Mental Health Programme, ensuring timely, accessible, and confidential support for communities across the region.

World Cancer Day | 4 February

To mark World Cancer Day, Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is offering a special discount from 2–6 February at our centres in Karachi, Hyderabad, and across Sindh.

Our awareness-raising, screening, and preventive services include dental consultation for early signs of oral cancer, clinical breast examination, healthy heart screening, eye screening, rapid hemoglobin testing, and rapid cholesterol testing.

The medical teams of Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS,P), including doctors, nurses, a psychologist, and a nutritionist, provided essential healthcare services and psychosocial support to affected families. AKHS,P organised outreach medical camps in Zoodkhun and Shetmerg villages, Chipursan Valley, Hunza, to support communities impacted by the 5.8-magnitude earthquake on 19 January 2026. AKHS,P remains committed to delivering timely and compassionate care to communities in need.

These outreach activities were conducted under the Flood Recovery and Climate Resilience (RENEW) project, a multi-sectoral initiative funded by Global Affairs Canada. The project aims to strengthen disaster preparedness, support recovery efforts, and build long-term climate resilience in some of Pakistan’s most vulnerable coastal and mountainous communities.

Our top-performing Basic Health Centres in terms of teleconsultation in 2025 were Garam Chashma, Susoom, Skardu, and Chatorkhand. By effectively connecting local communities with diagnostic centres and tertiary hospitals in Gilgit and Karachi, these centres ensured timely access to specialist consultations and advanced care.

𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫 is one of the most preventable cancers, as regular screening can detect pre-cancerous changes before cancer develops. When detected early, outcomes are significantly improved.
