Waqar Ul Hassan Appointed Chief Information Officer at Aik Digital Bank Islami

Waqar Ul Hassan has joined Aik Digital Bank Islami as Chief Information Officer (CIO). With over 19 years of experience in the fintech and digital banking sector, he brings extensive expertise in launching and scaling innovative financial solutions that have transformed the way millions of people manage money in Pakistan.

Waqar has played a leading role in pioneering projects such as Zindigi, Easypaisa, and Mobile Paisa, while gaining deep expertise in platforms like Fundamo, Micro Bank, IRIS/Phoenix, as well as international remittance gateways and ISO-MSG 8583 standards. His work spans across banking host systems, HSMs, card production, mobile wallets, open banking, and Raast merchant (P2M) transactions.

In his new role, Waqar aims to establish world-class technology for Aik Digital, supporting its mission of providing Shariah-compliant, Riba-free digital banking solutions rooted in fairness, transparency, and social responsibility.
