A lady in her mid-twenties visited us with a complaint of "short front teeth" caused by her teeth grinding habit.
She only wanted to fix the anteriors for her smile. The habit has been treated since. We fabricated non-prep veneers for her. She opted for a whiter shade against our advice. But the veneers looked really good because they covered all her smile.
Not every RCT needs a crown. If the tooth structure is well preserved, a crown may not be necessary but when significant structure is lost, a crown helps protect and strengthen the tooth.

A 24 year old visited us today with pain in an RCT treated tooth. It had only been 3 months since his RCT. The tooth was TTP and the radiograph revealed a short obturation with peri-apical periodontitis. The tooth was isolated and Re-RCT was performed. Copious irrigation followed by Sonic activation was done with NaOCI and EDTA. Warm Vertical Compaction was done to ensure an adequate seal during obturation.
Properly placed and well-maintained fillings are essential for long term dental health. If a filling becomes uncomfortable or starts failing, a dental check up is the best way to identify the cause and ensure timely correction.
