THEVETIA NERIFLORA

Also known as Be-still tree, an upright, open shrub or small tree with lance-shaped, mid- to green leaves. Produces scented apricot-yellow flowers, followed by triangular-ovoid, red, later black seed pods. In general, Thevetia is fast growing. Foliage is glossy and deep green, Flowers are clusters of yellow funnel-shaped flowers. Can be used as hedges or trained into tree form. This is a poisonous plant.

PROSOPIS ALBA

A vigorous, fast growing tree with erect single trunk, rough dark bark and a dense spreading crown. Leaves are pinnate. P. alba flowers are tiny, greenish-yellow in spikes, fruit is a flat pod; the appearance of the tree may vary depending on the soil conditions. PLUMERIA RUBRA

Grows at a moderate rate up to 25-35ft. tall, 15-20ft. wide. Medium green leaves are 8-16in. long with narrow, pointed tips. Bloom begins in spring, often before foliage emerges, and continues for more then 6 months. Well over 100 varieties have been developed; flowers are typically 2-4½ in. wide, in colors from white through yellow, gold, and orange to shades of pink and red; fragrance varies. Dwarf and semi double flowered forms are available.

PARKINSONIA ACULEATA

Parkinsonia aculeata is a small to medium growing deciduous tree or shrub, 15 to 30 feet tall, and as wide. The bark is yellow-green, branches have spiny twigs, a very open, sparse growth pattern. Yellow flowers on 3 to 7 inch clusters in spring, sporadically the rest of the year. It is a fast grower initially, then slows down, it's best to stake the young plant and train for high or low branch pattern. Once established it is low maintenance, but best kept out of manicured areas, hard surfaces due to leaf and twig litter. A drought tolerant plant, tolerant of dry, alkaline soils.

The optimal temperature for ripening tomatoes is between 68-77 degrees F. And at 85 degrees F, it's too hot for the plants to produce lycopene and carotene, the pigments responsible for the fruit color. Once temperatures consistently drop below 50 degrees F, green fruits will not ripen. Tomatoes that have a bit of color change can be brought inside to finish ripening.

OLEA EUROPAEA

Have opposite, leathery leaves, which may be entire or toothed, and produce terminal or axillary panicles of small, white or off white flowers; these are followed by edible, ovoid or spherical fruits.
