How the word 'confidence' for me changed over time.
It isn't being someone you're not.
It isn't copying what it looks like.
It isn't lying about your achievements.
Confidence comes from evidence.
Evidence of your past actions.
How you performed under pressure.
When things got rough and painful.
Where did you stand?
Now, many perfume brands use this word.
Catchy, gimmicky, pretentious, right?
What does it do, for you, truly?
Confidence in what?
Confidence ...
In evidence that you show you for yourself.
Not one day, not special occasions, everyday.
It's confidence that when something says it does it.
It does.
Not a "last all day" 6-8 hours gimmick.
It actually does what it says.
Like you.
Confidence is how you show up.
The things you care about.
Not for show.
For performance.
For the you, you want to become.
To be, more of who you are.
To be more,

I'm not sure if this is the right thing to post.
Our last PR event in Malaysia did not go as expected.
On all cylinders, this was difficult.
Without extensive disclosure I want to state this.
The balance between politeness and standards is tough.
Not just internally,
But with partners, vendors, and even your biggest fans.
What to share? To inform?
How you're presented, perceived, interpreted?
Your truth, their truth.
Our limitations, our blindspots.
Despite debate, we can only learn.
BPS will have expanded past "numbered" goals this year.
Though this is what I've learnt.
Harsher standards.
Negotiate when necessary.
Set boundaries, and enforce them.
We learn patience as we age.
Then we learn when to exercise it.
Going forth into 2027.
I need to be clearer with what we want for the brand.
At the end, it only hurts you if things aren't right.
I can't do that.
Not now.
No time to be lazy.
#1 in Singapore is not enough.
Let's get #1 in SEA.

This turned out unexpected.
Coming into Indonesia, we learnt four things.
1. They absolutely love their local brands
2. They care a lot about quality
3. They do not care about designer names
This is tricky.
If you know the story, I, Josh, started out with my own creations.
Early June 2022 taught me.
That people love perfume, not the brands.
But they were just used to the brands.
The brands and titles were their language.
So in a market where their own brands thrive.
Where their language is quality and trust.
Where does BPS stand?
Despite our position in Singapore, this was hard to prove.
Rightly so, trust is earned.
So we can do the PR, the #1 flex, the strength.
But this is another challenge.
To win the trust from a place that cares.
Their local brands above celebrity marketing.
I love that.
We’re now in Indonesia too.
Full staff, full facility, full logistics.
It may take a year, or two, or three.
But we’ll be the best here too.
Let’s go.

4. Their media support is insane

It's about time we showed this.
This PR trip was a fun one, being able to bring the staff over was a huge emotional leap for BPS.
Expanding our operations overseas has been a long process (Apr 2025 onwards).
Finally being able to reach our fans overseas has been wonderful, almost tear jerking to read the support.
I truly appreciate how Singapore alone has allowed us to do this, at such speed, and remain operationally sound to upkeep standards elsewhere.

It happened.
April 2025.
Travelling to these places was the first time I've travelled since 2021 on a bus to Malaysia.
Scouting the right place and size to support our possible growth.
Was it too big? Too small?
I wanted something that pushed the brand.
That made us feel worried if we'd succeed.
Something the lit the flame of competition.
We'll be #1 here too... right?

Renovations, compliance, safety, regulations.
Learning the new legalities of a country.
Customs, taxes, reports, security.
Frontloading all our net profit, with no guarantee on a possible return.

The first year should follow as Singapore did, barely alive.
The belief that people will notice the difference.
To repurchase, to stay loyal.
That's the bet.

It all started off as news that we thought we had avoided.
Update by update, what seemed to be a nightmare, became a reality.
I've tried to keep you updated again, and again, and the delays kept piling up - I'm sorry if there was any confusion; I was trying to be transparent with what I was given.
