Ageing is natural. But some of these processes are accelerated. Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs) is what makes collagen stiffer instead of springy.
It’s the same chemistry and browning bread in the oven. When bread browns, sugar binds to protein and it stiffens. When the same thing happens to our collagen over time, it’s called glycation.
Skincare that interrupts glycation helps preserve collagen structure so skin ages with you, not ahead of you.

SKIN AND ITS PH 📚
If you’ve ever wondered why your face stings after using some skincare products, maybe you are stacking on too many acidic products too fast, or using soaps that are too alkaline, or simply, washing or exfoliating too much. When that happens, take a step back and let your skin rebuild its acid mantle before re-introducing your actives again.
Slightly acidic skincare works well for most people, unless you have skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema.
The second last slide does a little comparison of a few regular items in the household just so you know where on the pH scale some of your skincare sits. Also tells you some common skin problems when skin pH is too low or too high.
Most facial cleansers are now slightly acidic so unless you use hand or bar soap on your face, you are ok 😊

I am a cosmetic doctor, every week I see women who suffer from melasma. It is more common than we think. So here are my top 5 skincare ingredients for melasma.
1. Azelaic acid (at least 10%, 15% and 20% only available via prescription)
2. Arbutin
3. Glycolic acid
4. Kojic acid
5. Vitamin C (10-15%)
With melasma, apart from pigment inhibitors which must be used on a rotational basis, I throw in the kitchen sink - oral sunscreens containing herbal extract polypodium leucotomas, on top of regular sunscreen.
Hope that helps and follow me for more ✨
