Hunger hit Returnees camp in Aweil East

A camp that is hosting over 600 Returnees in Majok Yinhthiou, Aweil East is undergoing severe hunger.

Photo: A woman laying down on ground, is a mother of those children sitting around. This woman spent more than three days, day and night without food, and so she starved as seen in the photo.

According to Bishop of Episcopal church of south Sudan in Wanyjok diocese, Joseph Mamer Manot, the Returnees and refugees there in Majok Yinhthiou lack food, shelter and clean drinking water.

"As we arrive at the camp, we saw this woman starving and so we rescued her life by giving little thing we had," Bishop Mamer said.

Since these people both returnees and refugees arrive in Aweil as they escaped fighting in Sudan, no humanitarian Assistance has been made to them.

Bishop Mamer is calling on the UN, Humanitarian organizations and government to intervene.

Bishop Mamer appealed after he visited the camp three days ago.
