KAPOETA, Eastern Equatoria – In a landmark move aimed at fostering unity and social cohesion, the Chairman of the Toposa Community has officially approved the launch of the first-ever Toposa Football Tournament.

The historic event will bring together 12 teams, featuring representatives from ten major Toposa sections as well as two brother communities. The lineup includes traditional sections Riwoto, Karengak, Machi, Ngikor, Ngimogos, Ngibunio, Ngipeimong, Nginyangiya, Ngilogir, and Ngiparinga. In a significant gesture of solidarity, the Jie and Nyangatom communities have also been invited to participate.

Organizers emphasize that the tournament is more than just a sporting competition; it is a platform to strengthen bonds, encourage dialogue, and promote a message of peace across the greater Toposa society. The initiative reflects a collective commitment to using sports as a tool for community building and reconciliation.
