To men who fought hard to graduate, only to end up wandering the streets with their degrees in hand, still battling to find opportunities, this is for you.

To Be an Educated Man in 🇸🇸 South Sudan … Is to Bleed Silently.
He wore the gown.
He held the certificate.
He walked across that stage, heart full of dreams, family full of pride.
They clapped, they cried, they said, “He made it.”
But no one prepared him for what came after.
No one told him that in this country, a degree doesn’t guarantee a destiny.
Now he walks the streets with papers that can’t buy bread.
He sends CVs into silent inboxes.
He knocks on doors that never open.
He watches time pass by, wondering, “Was it all in vain?”

This is the reality of the educated hustler.
The man who studied under candlelight.
Who walked to campus with worn-out shoes and hunger in his belly.
Who borrowed books, shared notes, skipped meals, just to make it.
He gave his youth to education, believing it would open doors.
And now?
He’s laying bricks.
Riding boda bodas.
Selling airtime under the sun.
Hawking water and biscuits just to survive.
Some days, he hides his degree like a wound he doesn’t want the world to see.
And yet, they still ask him: “Why aren’t you married?”
As if love can grow on an empty plate.
As if respect is tied to job titles, not the fight behind the scenes.

Marriage has been commercialized, turned into a burden, not a blessing.
And the same society that pushed him to school now mocks him for not “becoming a man.”
But listen,
That man is a hero.
He didn’t fail.
The system did.
To the man who graduated but still struggles:
You are not forgotten.
You are not useless.
You are not alone.
Your journey is still valid. Your story still matters.

Dear society,
Have mercy.
Not all jobless men are lazy.
Some are warriors stuck in a broken system.
Some are scholars trying to survive in a world that rewards connections over qualifications.
Respect the hustle—degree or not.
And to my brothers:
Hold your head high.
You are more than your job status.
You are the future this nation is sleeping on.
And one day, you will rise and we will remember that you held on when it made no sense to.

Contrary to widespread expectations, no presidential decrees were announced on SSBC this evening.

BREAKING: Dr. Riek Machar Teny’s case against the government has attracted 107 defense lawyers from around the world, as follows:

(1). 46 barristers/lawyers from the UK who have pledged to defend Dr. Riek pro bono.

(2). 24 defense lawyers from Norway, funded by international human rights organizations.

(3). 9 volunteer defense lawyers from the United States of America (USA).

(4). 11 defense lawyers sponsored by the German government.

(5). 10 defense lawyers from East African countries—Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Somalia covering their own costs.

(6). 4 local lawyers (South Sudanese), funded by the family of the accused.

(7). 2 self-sponsored lawyers from Ghana and Nigeria.

(8). 1 defense lawyer from Sudan.

Subject: Adjournment and Rescheduling of the Final Match – Yirol East County vs Rumbek Center County

Dear Teams, Officials, and Esteemed Supporters,

This is to officially inform you that the final match of the Lakes State Peace Tournament between Yirol East and Rumbek Center, originally scheduled for August 30, 2025, has been rescheduled.

Following a recent meeting between the LSPT Board lead by Chairman Trump Makuach Anyuat and the Governor of Lakes State, a mutual decision was made to adjust the date in order to allow H:E Lt. Gen. Rin Tueny Mabor, Governor of Lakes State, ample time to address pressing matters. His Excellency has confirmed his attendance as the Guest of Honour for the final.

The final match will now take place on:
