Response to the Condemnation Statement Released by the Hon. Minister of Information of Unity State Government on the Barbaric Attack in Kaloch Boma, Aliiny County, RAA

The Government of Ruweng Administrative Area strongly disputes and condemns the public denial statement released by the Hon. Minister of Information, Unity State Government, Hon. Nyakenya Johannes Keah, who was quoted as saying, “The attack was carried out by armed criminals from Ruweng Administrative Area at Hopra, Payangai, Budang Payam, located in the northern part of Rubkona County.”
This is a completely false and blame-shifting statement because:

1. The attack was carried out in Kaloch Boma, under Panakuach Payam in Aliiny County, Ruweng Administrative Area, not in the so-called Budang Payam in Rubkona County.
2. The issue concerns the land encroachment policy being practiced by the people and the government of Unity State into Ruweng land.
3. On 2nd June 2026, around 10:00 pm, an armed youth group from Unity State carried out the attack on Ruweng civilians living in their residential areas in Kaloch, Panakuach Payam, resulting in the deaths of more than 10 civilians and 24 injuries.
If the County Commissioner of Rubkona, Hon. Salam Maluit, was allegedly at the scene of the attack, it should be understood that he came to confirm whether Kaloch was under their full control after civilians had been driven out. Not only Hon. Maluit, but most Unity State leaders conspire with their youth and es**rt them when carrying out attacks on Ruweng people.

With this, Hon. Nyakenya Johannes Keah should have been honest in her statement by providing the public with accurate information. The entire country knows and believes that Ruweng is a peace-loving community that does not cross into neighboring areas to attack or raid cattle under any circumstances.

Therefore, the Government of Ruweng Administrative Area strongly condemns this barbaric act and the killing of innocent civilians.

The Government of Ruweng Administrative Area calls upon the Government of Unity State to take action against the long-standing perpetrators from their area who repeatedly attack Ruweng communities across their territories, resulting in multiple deaths, rather than rushing to social media with blame-shifting statements and false claims about Kaloch in Aliiny County, where the attack occurred.

The RAA urges its citizens to remain calm, continue embracing unity among themselves, and call for peace with neighboring States.

Our heartfelt condolences go to the victims’ families. Meanwhile, the citizens of Ruweng should remain vigilant and alert at all times to prevent incidents like this from happening again.

May God rest their souls in eternal peace.

في أجواء احتفالية مفعمة بالفخر والاعتزاز، احتفلت مدرسة ورياض الضمان العالمية الابتدائية الخاصة بمدينة يدا بتخريج الدفعة الأولى من تلاميذها، في حدث يُعد محطة تاريخية بارزة في مسيرة التعليم بالمنطقة، ويعكس تطور القطاع التعليمي وحرص المؤسسات الخاصة على تقديم تعليم نوعي ومتميز.

الحضور الرسمي والمجتمعي:

The Commissioner of Jau County Hon. Peter Monyluak Mijok received a high-level delegation from the capital, Juba, led by the Deputy Chief Administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area Hon. Simon Wuor Miaper and the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry. The visit aimed to assess the general situation in the county and discuss ways to develop the agricultural sector and provide the necessary support to farmers in the area.
During the meeting, the delegation and local authorities discussed the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s plans to increase agricultural productivity and provide the necessary resources and inputs for the upcoming farming season, in order to enhance food security and support local communities.
The visit also focused on strengthening administrative coordination between the Ruweng Administrative Area and its counties to ensure the effective delivery of essential services to citizens and support local development efforts.
In addition, the discussions addressed the security situation in the county, where both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability to create a conducive environment for citizens and development projects.

Yida, Jau County April 30th, 2026 His Excellency, Col. PSC. Daniel Makuei Thieyear, the newly appointed chief administrator of Ruweng Administrative Area, arrived safely at Yida Airstrip.
He was warmly welcomed with vibrant traditional dances performed by various communities across Jau County. The reception at the Yida airstrip was led by his, Deputy Chief Administrator, Hon. Simon Wuor Miaper, alongside the entire State Government of RAA, Jau County government, religious leaders, youth, women’s League, civil society and schools.
Among the official accompanying the Chief Administrator were Rt. Hon. Mary Ayen Mijok, the First Deputy Speaker for the Council of State, H.E. Stephano Wieu, former Chief Administrator among other officials from the national government
In his remarks, H.E. COL. PSC. Miakuei Theyea chief Administrator of RAA urged the people of Ruweng to remain peaceful and coexist harmoniously with their neighbors, emphasizing unity and mutual respect as the foundation of progress.
This historic day reflects the spirit of togetherness and cultural pride that defines our community.
