For centuries, Tuitui nut oils were used by Tongans as a natural moisturizer. However, due to the long process of extracting oil from these small nuts, the Tuitui oil was only used by the Royal family in the olden days. Tuitui oil is used to moisturize and protect the skin from sun, salt, wind and other environmental elements. It is also used for minor skin irritations, wounds and burns, as well as massage oil. It penetrates the skin easily and leaves the skin feeling silky and smooth. The oil contains vitamins A,C and E, which are antioxidants protecting the skin. Tongans use Tuitui Oil on newborn babies as a protection for their skin from chapping and to allow their skin to adjust to the new environment.
