On August 1st, a client named Faith Ramnarase received waxing services totaling $600 at my spa, ‘Roots Ethos Spa’. She provided a screenshot of a bank transfer as proof of payment however, the funds were never received.

I reached out on Monday after the appointment but received no response until Thursday. This was unusual, as she is normally very chatty when booking appointments. When she finally responded, she claimed the bank was “holding her funds,” which is not credible.

Upon examining the screenshot, it was clear it had been edited. This led me to review her previous visit in February, during a very busy period. At that time, her payment for $225 had slipped through the cracks while all other clients’ payments were confirmed. She was able to get away with it once and then returned months later to attempt the same with a larger amount.

To date, the total outstanding amount is $825. I have since learned she has engaged in similar actions with other businesses.
