Today am going to talk about GBS(Guillain-Barre Syndrome). A condition where the body's immune system attacks the body which its surposeed to fight for(Autoimmune disorder) and in this case it affects mostly the nerves. Many patients with GBS begin to have difficulty in communicating verbally because the muscles of speech become affected by the syndrome. In severe cases of Gbs a patient may need to use alternative and augmentative communication(AAC),for either a short or long term solution. Majority of patients with Gbs will have a return in function and demonstrate a full recovery . while others need therapies.
