Hi everyone,

I wanted to share with you my experience with the ketogenic diet, which is a low-carb, high-fat, and moderate-protein diet that has helped me LOSE WEIGHT and improve my health. The ketogenic diet works by putting your body into a state of ketosis (specifically nutritional ketosis, which is NOT the same as keto acidosis), where it burns fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates. This way, you can use your own fat stores as a source of energy, and reduce your appetite and cravings for carbs and sugar.

The ketogenic diet is not a fad or a quick fix, but a lifestyle change that requires commitment and discipline. I have done it for 4 years now. You have to limit your carbohydrate intake to less than 50 grams per day (20 grams per day in my case due to my severe metabolic challenges), and eat mostly healthy fats and proteins, such as eggs, cheese, butter, nuts, avocado, olive oil, coconut oil, meat, fish, and poultry. You also have to avoid foods that are high in carbohydrate, starches, and sugar, such as bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, fruits, sweets, sodas, juices, beans, and alcohol.

The benefits of the ketogenic diet are not only weight loss, but also improved blood sugar levels, lower cholesterol levels (although, in the beginning Cholesterol may increase beyond normal levels due to fat mobilization), blood pressure, inflammation, brain function, mood, and energy. I have been on the ketogenic diet for 4 years now and I have lost over 55 pounds and feel great. I have more mental clarity, focus, and motivation. I sleep better and have less stress. I also enjoy the food I eat and don't feel deprived or hungry.

If you are interested in trying the ketogenic diet, I recommend you do some research first and consult your doctor before starting.
