🚨 Announcement 🚨

I’m excited to finally tell you about this little thing I’ve been cooking up... worth the read!

So... I am a woman who can basically do anything I dream up. That’s been on my mind since I started training for this 50-miler. I am grateful to have never known a world where that freedom doesn’t exist.... but it doesn’t in so many places.

That’s why I’ve partnered with an organization called . They are trying to close the gap of gender disparity in rural, poverty-stricken Kenya. A place where girls are sometimes treated as commodities. Forced/sold into marriage at a very young age, abused, neglected, mutilated.

We runners are an incredibly supportive and encouraging community. One that lifts each other up, cheers each other on. Imagine being trapped in a world where you had no support. Your future is not even your own decision. No education, no opportunity.

Village of Hope’s mission is to empower these girls and help them invest in themselves in a safe environment.

One of my primary goals in raising a daughter, is to ensure she understands her dreams can come true and that I’ll be there to help make them happen. I felt I could spread that message for other girls around the world, through you.

So, on September 12th, when I run the with my good friends, we run for Hope. We run for these girls — because we can.

Please check out my blog post for all details (link in bio.) I hope you’ll follow along for our journey.

When a race costs $30++ I figured we could put a little money we’re saving from fall cancellations to good use.

A big thank you to our sponsors so far to...

It’s been a jam packed couple of days prepping for the ...
✅ Double runs Thurs/Friday - more than 50k in 30 hours! Now we taper 😅
✅ Talking and meeting with local busineses that want to help support
✅ Spreading the word about and encouraging runners to join us for a virtual leg

Stacey and I also had a pre-race consult with Dr. Patrick Campbell () from , our generous recovery sponsor.

🦵 I talk a lot about biomechanics and body awareness - understanding any issues or imbalances that exist and then identifying the best ways to treat them. People like Dr. Campbell take that to the next level. He’s worked with hundreds of athletes during strenuous events and after, for recovery.

He adjusted us, did some cupping, and showed us some fantastic new vibrating foam rollers and trigger point tools we will have at our disposal. We were also able to enjoy the benefits of the Normatec system, which uses compression to enhance blood flow and speed up recovery.

❗️I can’t stress enough how important it is to take care of your body as you’re working hard and pounding on it. If you want to go longer and push harder, that part cannot be neglected. The body won’t go forever without it!

❓What’s your experience been like with recovery specialists (chiropractors, PTs, massage therapists, acupuncturists, etc?) Who have you seen and what has worked for you?

Stay tuned. Keep watching my stories. More to come on our journey. We hope you’ll keep following along and consider joining us - Link in Bio.
