2024 was the most challenging year for Enchanted Sugar. After speaking and texting with so many friends in Los Angeles, my challenges pale in comparison to the devastation so many are experiencing this week.

Many of you may know that before moving back home to New Mexico, I lived in Los Angeles for 25 years. I raised my daughter there, had a career that I loved, and so many friends that filled Jesse and my life with wonderful memories.

When I started Enchanted Sugar many of those friends became my first customers that I shipped to and they have been so loyal over the years.

My prayers and thoughts are with all of them this week.

Running a small business is incredibly challenging, and it doesn’t get easier each year because there are new mountains to climb and new obstacles to overcome. This year has been my hardest, and I am especially grateful to all of you who have weathered this year with me.

We experienced the hottest and longest summer ever and held shipping hundreds of online orders from customers in states that we simply couldn’t ship to because of the temperatures in their states.

An Enchanted Sugar candle is made with sustainable 100% American-grown soy wax. We don’t add additives or paraffin wax to keep it harder. This is why so few candlemakers who reach a certain level of sales don’t use 100% soy wax. We always will.

What we do add are premium custom phthalate-free fragrance blends, organic herbs, and local products – like New Mexico Piñon Coffee. When I poured my first 5 candles eight years ago, our Piñon Coffee candle was one of our original 5 candles.

This candle is poured with freshly ground
which is what makes it so incredibly fragrant and rich. Years later we added Spanish anise to create our Piñon Coffee & Biscochitos candle - a favorite for the holiday season.
