If I’m only going out for groceries once every 10 days, I’m gonna put FULL EFFORT in

Wrapped up the experience, and things ended up nominally!
The first photo was taken during the last leg of the trip home, and as you can see I had a bit of a small breakout. However, it resolved itself over 4-5 days, and now (in the second photo) things are operating in good condition ☺️
What this trip taught me was that, sometimes it’s good to give your a break! Even if your products aren’t hurting you, using a week—or even just a few days—to take your own vacation from such as acids and vitamin C can give your skin some breathing room.
If you find that nothing in your routine is causing you problems, but your skin still isn’t where you want it to be, consider trimming down to your cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and SPF for a couple of days.
And, always make sure to stay well hydrated and daily! We did at least 6 miles of everyday for about 2/3 of the trip, and even on the days that we didn’t, we had other activities such as , , and !
Of course, 6 miles is a large time commitment for many people, but consider at least 2 miles (which amounts to a 40 minute walk) in the evening after dinner. It will help burn immediate calories from carbs, and tire you out a bit for bed 😴💤

Camping skin update: I’m starting to notice two small breakouts possible, likely from touching my chin/jaw with dirty hands throughout the day. So far so good, though! I’ll probably slap some on them tonight, and cross my fingers 🤞🏽
As you’ll notice, I’m also wearing a sunhat (this one is specifically designed to protect against UVA/UVB!), because even if you use , it’s usually a good idea to wear a hat as well if you’re going to be outdoors all day 🏕

I’m going on a 2+ week trip, will my skin remain stabilized on a pared down routine?
I’ll be using the Equate Beauty Hydrating Cleanser, which is a non-foaming cream cleanser that requires very little water. And then just the Equate Beauty Ceramide Moisturizer mixed with a drop of Nip+Fab Exfoliate Glycolic Fix.
Topped off with a good 🌞sunscreen🌞 of course! I really like SPF 50, the formula has yet to make me break out, and they have an oil-free product for people with oilier skin ☺️
I’ll also be using the facial cleansing towelettes when necessary, but remember that overusing face wipes can irritate your skin, no matter how gentle the ingredients are, simply due to the extra friction involved.

I am back in my regular abode now, but wanted to share one of my favorite foods that Umma made!
This is (매운탕), a fish/seafood based spicy stew; this particular bowl has and as the main components. It’s fairly light in flavor, and the chrysanthemum greens have a fairly unique taste to them!
As many of you are probably aware, fatty acids are an extremely important part of our . It’s very common to take supplements for this (I do this as well), but supplements are just that- supplemental to your actual diet. Many studies are now showing that only taking fish oil capsules doesn’t have the same benefits as eating one-to-two servings of omega-3 rich foods a day.
There could be many reasons for this, but the prevailing idea is that our bodies get more from these food sources than just omega-3’s: equally supportive vitamins, minerals, and other micronutrients won’t be found in those little golden gels.
If you are serious about wanting to increase your omega-3 intake (for such benefits as reduced risk of heart disease, mood disorders, joint pain, and increased skin and hair health!), then you should focus on your diet. Some of the best meat-based foods include:
Salmon
Sardines and Anchovies
Mackerel
Shrimp
But, if you’re not a seafood fan, this list can look fairly unappealing. Luckily, there are many other vegetarian and vegan options! These include:
Flax, H**p, and Chia Seeds
Walnuts
Soy-based products (edamame, tofu, tempeh)
Broccoli
Eggs
Fontina and Pecorino Romano Cheese
This is not a comprehensive list by any means, a little bit of research goes a long way towards finding what could be your next favorite to add to your diet 😋

Sorry I’ve been inactive! I’m currently out of state with my partner’s family, so I don’t have much ability to put out useful content 😅 That being said, I am eating a lot of delicious homemade Korean food.. 맛있어!!
To update, though, I am slowly coming out of the horrible flare-up I’ve been having; it hasn’t been anything really terrible this go, but it has been persistent and ranging across my whole face (usually my breakouts are on the periphery of my face). My guess still is that it was hormonal, or a mere fluke, as I have changed nothing in my routine, diet, or habits 🤷🏻♀️

Sure, look iconic on top of a hamburger bun, but what good are they nutritionally?
Despite their tiny size, sesame seeds pack many of the same benefits as other (more popular seeds) such as chia and flax- including a high healthy fat content (4.5 grams per tablespoon!) and still a low carbohydrate count (2.1 grams per tablespoon) on top of being high in . Sesame seeds are also notable for being high in ! 88 milligrams of calcium per tablespoon of sesame seeds is nearly 10% of the daily recommended value for adults.
On top of just being good for your body, they’re also good for your flavor palate ☺️ They add a round, wholesome nuttiness to any dish, and can be used in almost any diet (even if you are allergic to tree nuts, you should be able to eat seeds unless you also have a sesame-specific allergy).
Curious what goes into my ? Let me show you!
As I’ve already posted about, turmeric is great for calming in your , and can help fade and faster than your body does normally, and usually with better results.
On top of that, the in the recipe contains the gentle chemical , which is useful in preventing future acne- much like salicylic acid many are more familiar with (for this reason I use it in my morning routine in place of my pads)!
The also adds properties, as well as helping to moisturize and your complexion.
Finally, the may seem like an unremarkable ingredient, but in fact they provide to help repair environmental damage on your skin’s surface! It’s very useful for both absorbing excess oil AND adding benefits as a .
‼️An important note: if for any reason you do have any yellow staining on your skin and/or nails, you can easily remove it with some coconut oil on a cotton pad. Turmeric WILL STAIN CLOTHING though! And it’s much more difficult to remove, so be careful what fabric it touches; I use an old, already stained towel with this mask just in case anything lingers on my face when I go to dry off 😅

I don’t usually make claims that a product will offer visible changes in less than a week, but this has done just that for me!
To put it into context, not only do I extremely easily from even when I don’t pick at it, but the scars that are left behind tend to take a long time to fade. Using this mask (which is the only addition to my routine) has helped them in 5 days to the same place the scars would have been after several weeks in my case.
Usually I don’t use face masks that frequently. I have my two store-bought ones I use 2-3 times a week, and occasionally I like DIY avocado masks for extra moisture once a month. But this is something that I can see having as a part of my daily routine- maybe not always on my entire face, but definitely as a consistent, targeted, topical application to help fade persistent scars like this.
