Introducing our baby chicks! Here are a few photos of them at only 5 days old. Their little fluffy feathers are so cute. We also tried some knit hamster hats on them, which they absolutely hated. We only had them on for 1 min and then never again, poor chicks!

We’ve been quiet for a bit, but it’s because we moved! This was our first time moving with little kids, and this move seemed much bigger than anything we’ve done in the past. I’m very thankful for our family who helped us out a ton over the holiday break. I haven’t been able to make soap yet, but I plan to in a month. I’m looking forward to sharing more of our home, but it’s not quite finished.
I’ll share more soon! - Lauren

We had a wonderful weekend at our local school’s holiday market. I brought all of my holiday soaps and candles, and thought I’d made plenty but to my surprise, we sold out! Thank you to my family who helped to make the market happen! It was a very busy week with getting everything ready and we got our first big snow of the season! I’m still surprised that I have nothing left to sell or to use for gifts. I’ll for sure pan to make more next year!

These cranberry & orange soap bars pack a punch with their sweet citrus scent! Turmeric and madder root provide a nourishing cleanse and add shades of orange and deep pink in the soap! French pink clay and mango butter hydrate and soothe. This soap is something special!
This is a bar I was unsure about because I ran out of white soap! I tried to push the eyes down as far as I could. The bar is scented with warm flannel fragrance from Bramble Berry and smells like a cozy winter day. This could be a snowman or a penguin 😆.
This was a hard cut, and I didn’t line it up quite right. It still resulted in a couple bars with the heart visible and they smell nice. Always trial and error with new designs, but it’s a great way to learn new techniques. Hoping to make a pretty holiday themed bar next!
Last weekend I got a little free time to make some soap! I used Kentucky bourbon fragrance for the first time and incorporated some unscented soap pieces with concentrated mineral clay. I’m interested to see how this bar turns out!

I went to NYC a couple weeks ago, and I didn’t just stay in the city. I made a special trip out to visit Loriann at Pine Hill Farm and got to meet cashmere goats!
The visit was really helpful and I got to interact with the goats and learn what it’s like to raise goats and harvest the fiber. The cashmere is combed out of the goats, washed, and sent to a mill which can determine the quality of the cashmere to help with breeding decisions. The goats were calm and happy and seemed to love it out at Pine Hill Farm.
There are so many possibilities when it comes to animals on a farm, but I hope to start a small cashmere goat herd once we get our farm fixed up. I really appreciate the kindness of others who have been so willing to share information and to help me get started.
