Y’all sit in that chair for hours thinking your braids are protecting your hair… but a new study says 95% of the extensions tested contained cancer linked chemicals. Researchers found flame retardants, plastic stabilizers, and even compounds used in pesticides hiding in popular brands.
Black women are hit hardest because protective styles are a cultural staple. Lawmakers are now pushing for stricter beauty regulations, but until then experts say read labels carefully and look for non toxic options.
