I try to keep my business page mostly business, but as the daughter of immigrants, my heart breaks watching families torn apart by ICE. What some only see on the news is a lived reality for so many of us — fear, uncertainty, and pain woven into the fabric of our everyday lives. What some call “enforcement” is, for many of us, the erasure of basic human rights. Due process — a legal protection this country was built on — is being stripped away from people simply seeking safety and doing things “the legal way”.
If you’ve never had to worry about a knock on the door, or if your family could vanish without warning, that is privilege. And with privilege comes responsibility — Use it to listen. Use it to speak up.
This isn’t just a political issue. It’s a human one. It’s about compassion and it’s about whether we are willing to stand for what is right, even when it doesn’t affect us directly. Let your empathy be louder than indifference.
