Hormonal acne is a multi-faceted problem.
And each of these facets are intertwined. Gut issues often are what causes the hormonal imbalance in the first place. That’s why I suggest, besides topical treatment, taking care of your gut is step #1
Next step would be detoxing your liver. Because your liver regulates chemicals in your blood cleansing it out every few months or once a year can help flush toxins out of your system that may be causing inflammation.
Now ways you can support your liver are; taking antioxidants, consuming more fiber, and keeping blood sugar stable.
Just taking a few steps a day can make a tremendous difference!

My skin scars SO EASILY! It’s ridiculous.
I’ve used these tools over the years to prevent and correct some of the scarring acne has left me with.
My favorite chemical exfoliants are lactic acid, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid!
Obviously I use the Dirty Peach Oil cleanser. And for my SPF I use blue lizard mineral sunscreen.
Do you use any of these tactics?

I get the question all the time of what’s the difference between dry and dehydrated skin?
Well dry skin is more surface level while dehydrated skin is a deeper issue. And here’s some key symptoms of dehydrated skin!
My favorite go to ingredient for dehydrated skin is hyaluronic acid! I use a serum at least 3x a week. Two others you could try are glycerin, this one’s great because it’s not too expensive and it packs a punch. And ceramides! This one can be in products a little more on the expensive side but it’s also worth it!!
Do you have dehydrated skin?

Exfoliation is probably something you’ve heard of from when you were a kid. But the kind of exfoliation is actually good for your skin is probably not what you were taught.
Most of us were taught to use some form of abrasive scrub on our face as an exfoliant. And while this is exfoliating your skin physical exfoliants can damage the skin barrier and cause more problems.
what you want to be using is a chemical exfoliant. And while this sounds scary it’s actually extremely safe and effective.
if you’re just getting into the world of skin care and chemical exfoliants it can be a little bit overwhelming to try to find the right one. Some products are going to be more harsh and intense than others and it’s really important when exfoliating active acne to be gentle. That’s why my primary recommendation is salicylic acid!
I would steer clear of glycolic acid as it can be more abrasive than acceptable. And always always always moisturize and replenish your skin after exfoliating with any kind of exfoliant.

Retinol is one of the most popular and well known anti-aging ingredients out there! So, for some of you it may come as a shock that it’s not the angel ingredient companies want you to believe.
Retinol is an extremely effective tool for reducing and preventing fine lines and wrinkles, but at what cost?
Im not here to advocate that retinol is the worst ingredient ever. Just that everything has its pros and cons and we rarely hear about it’s cons!
