Happy 16th Solar Return to Christian! 🎉🎈🎊 My 6’ 5” loving, brilliant, kind, funny, manga reading, music loving, concert going, artistic soul of a son. My gentle giant. I can’t believe he’s 16. I feel so many feelings! The biggest one is gratitude. Gratitude that you chose me to be your mother and that I get to be a witness to your life unfolding. Your Becoming.

The saying ‘the days are long but the years are short’ is so true! I remember those looonnngggg early days. But now we’re here. 2 more years until he finishes high school. And now all I want is for time to slow down a bit. I find myself looking at old pics and videos of you and Benjamin and marvel that my , my babies, are growing into capable young men.

Love you to infinity and beyond Christian! I am so proud of the young man you are becoming. You are the best of me and your father plus so much more!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for finding and sending me couch recommendations from Facebook marketplace once I mentioned I needed new furniture to replace my couch and loveseat that had served my family well but was ready to retire. In anticipation of guiding practice TOMORROW December 20th at Oasis at I decided to flashback to last November when and I along with brought YOGA X DRUM to The High!

Lil John Roberts (International Drummer & Educator) and I created and virtually hosted YOGA X DRUM via IG and then Zoom sessions where I taught yoga while John played drums live. It was a supremely dope thing for me to be able to collaborate with a friend who I respect so much as an artist. During a time when fear and disconnection was at an all time high it felt wonderful to provide a space for people to practice, connect and hopefully have some fun. It was a true labor of love and it sparked the spirit of collaboration in me that still informs how I best like to work. In collaborative community with like minded, heart guided individuals working toward a common goal of elevating one another and their community.

Join me and a few of my friends & TOMORROW December 20th for Oasis at . I’ll be guiding a short gentle yoga practice followed by a Yoga Nidra (guided rest practice) while & immerse the space with beautiful healing soundscapes. It’s gonna be special & magical & I hope to see YOU there!

There was a whole lotta lyrical MC’s in the house last Friday night at Talib Kweli’s show at The Loft at Center Stage! My girl performed her single …Letthe with Talib Kweli on the remix live for the 1st time! (Don’t mind my warbly vocals while Stacy’s singing😆🤣) spit right in front of me from the crowd. flowed on a posse cut.

I have always had great respect for lyricists. People who can express their observations of the world, their emotions and translate that expression into words over a beat for the listener to experience and digest. It’s its own kind of alchemy. A special sort of magic.

The Goddess Miss Erykah Badu unloaded a full clip at the Atlanta stop of her 25th Anniversary of Mama’s Gun Tour last Monday.

And I had a time! I should’ve known when the restaurant had virgin pina coladas on the menu that the night was bout to be magical. ✨✨✨

Running into friends at the restaurant before the show. Seeing various groups of friends in the crowd before the show which led us to dancing in the aisles while people were getting seated. (Our bad. The DJ was jamming!)

The show was amazing! So many breathtaking, magical, funky and comedic moments! Erykah & the band gave a masterclass performance!

And backstage was filled with love, joy and friends!

Singing ‘How good it is. How good it is. How God it is!’ I feel God’s goodness and grace in every part of my life. So grateful for every magical moment I’m blessed to experience.

Filled with gratitude for this life I am blessed to live! The ups, downs, twists, turns and plot twists. So many plot twists!

Grateful to Source, my teachers, practices, students, collaborators, friends, family, my partner and my children for keeping me grounded through it all.

Grateful to have experienced an abundance of growth, love, joy, grace and laughter in this 1st year of my 50's. And dancing! So much dancing! Thank you to all the dancers, music makers and curators for always helping me find my groove!

While I love teaching my students in the yoga studio teaching yoga, meditation, breathwork and other mindfulness tools out in the world in places and spaces that really need these tools but don't always have access holds a special places in my heart.
