🌿 How Alma’s Apothecary Was Born…

People often ask me, “How did Alma’s Apothecary begin?”

The answer wasn’t in a business class or marketing book. It began with curiosity, prayer, and complete dependence on God.

During COVID, I couldn’t simply run to the doctor. Later, after moving to a new state, I was searching for a dentist when my wisdom teeth suddenly flared up just before I was scheduled to teach Encounter with the King. My mouth became inflamed, and I needed relief.

In that moment, the Lord spoke to my heart:

“Do you not think I can take care of you?”

That question changed everything.

I began studying God’s creation differently. I realized that the same God who created our bodies also created the earth with incredible resources. Every product at Alma’s Apothecary is rooted in that journey of faith, stewardship, and intentional living.

This is not about rejecting doctors, dentists, hospitals, or urgent care. I’m grateful for every healthcare professional—they all have an important place.

But I also believe this:

God is our Source. Everything else is a resource.

Our hope is to equip families with practical, natural wellness options while always pointing people back to Christ—the Great Physician.

This is bigger than products.

It’s about building for the Kingdom, serving the nations, and reminding people that hope is found first in Him. 🤍🌿

Yesterday we celebrated freedom.

Today, ask yourself a different question…

How do you feel after you leave a person, place, or thing?

Pay attention.

Not to their words…
Not to their title…
Not to their potential…

Pay attention to the fruit.

Do you leave feeling:
✨ Peaceful… or anxious?
✨ Inspired… or insecure?
✨ Energized… or exhausted?
✨ Seen… or overlooked?
✨ Closer to God… or farther away?
✨ Hopeful… or heavy?

Your spirit often notices before your mind catches up.

Sometimes we’ve become so accustomed to carrying heaviness that we mistake it for normal. We excuse it. We explain it away. We keep returning because it’s familiar.

But freedom starts when you become aware.

When you notice that a conversation always steals your peace…
When a place always leaves you drained…
When a habit always leaves you feeling empty…
When a relationship constantly requires you to shrink who God created you to be…

Don’t ignore what your soul is trying to tell you.

Not everything that is available to you is assigned to you.

Today, on July 5th, maybe your next act of independence isn’t fireworks.

Maybe it’s releasing the relationship.
Maybe it’s walking away from the habit.
Maybe it’s setting the boundary.
Maybe it’s forgiving.
Maybe it’s healing.
Maybe it’s choosing yourself for the first time in a long time.

Freedom isn’t just about leaving something.

It’s about making room for what gives you life.

So today, ask yourself:

What do I need to become free from so I can become who God is calling me to be?

Pay attention.
Your peace is speaking.
Your body is speaking.
Your spirit is speaking.

Don’t silence what God may be using to lead you into your next season.

What is this person, place, habit, relationship, social media account, or environment costing me?
