For those who may not know, this song you are listening to has one of the last guitar solos Brent Hinds recorded. He slept on the living room couch for a week (or two, whose counting) with The Marcus King Band at the house they rented down in Macon, Georgia while they were writing and recording their latest record, Darlin’ Blue at the legendary Capricorn Studios. The final song on the companion release titled “Red Door” was one that Brent collaborated and performed on. Ever the stubborn perfectionist, he managed to do 278 takes before landing on the one he liked best. These are some photos I took while hanging out and watching it all unfold for a couple of days.

I’ll go ahead and say it, and are quite likely the most formidable guitar duo in the game right now. I wouldn’t make the mistake of missing them on this tour, go on out and get your hair blown back. Seriously, next level playing that is as good as it gets.

You are looking at the result of collaboration between some very talented artists. had the idea for a purpose built variant of the very limited production EBS-1250 Double Bass, one of the rarest birds to fly out of Kalamazoo in the 1960’s. We created this instrument With some modern tweaks and refinement of the design, while staying appropriately faithful to the original design.

A big thank you to at R2R Electric for an absolutely phenomenal recreation of the onboard Fuzztone pedal that a small handful of EBS-1250 were equipped with. This was no small detail or task, and my mind is still 🤯 at just how good it turned out.

came through with the beautifully aged vintage hardware on this beast. Some of the most realistic feeling and looking vintage speed k***s out there (and their reflector k***s are just as good), ABR-1 bridges and tuning machines that look right. Check them out if you want to upgrade one of your guitars!

The guitar is equipped with Starwood Humbuckers, and the 30” scale bass is using a EB-BSX Bisonic Humbucker in the neck, and a H22 Goldfoil bridge pickup. All of which sound fantastic together!

Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make this dream a reality!

At least 25% of you who see this post and have your volume up are going to go listen to the rest of Dirt right now because you have to. It’s ok, I understand and am already doing the same.

Sometimes the question is the answer.
The Telecaster has been reimagined innumerable times and ways with inspiration and influence drawn upon from every corner of the earth. Its beauty is in its simplicity, which lends itself well to amateur builders taking a stab at making their first guitar, all the way to professionals attempting to perfect the design.

This guitar was created with a different approach. Instead of building a Tele that incorporates vintage Firebird design elements, I asked what if we built a Firebird that incorporates Tele design elements? This was the result. Catch it on the road this summer with
