What’s in my Kit: Hairspray Edition!

When I think about categories of hairspray, the specific spray is what I’m into the most at the moment. If I find a different brand that I like better, I use that! But the category pretty much stays the same.

I have a bunch of other products that I’ll share in another video since I couldn’t fit them into this one!

What’s in my KIT👀 Sharing what I pack to bring to your wedding! Part 1 - curling irons!

On the outside, I’m chill and calm and a little bit chatty. On the inside I’m managing the time timeline of your whole wedding morning like a hawk. Your makeup artist is usually doing the same thing and we are communicating about it across the room with our eyes.

How I build your (realistic) timeline⬇️

30min - Arrival and Set Up - this is a window of time that allows for all sorts of morning things to happen without putting the day behind. What kind of things happen you ask? Trash trucks and school busses, surprise traffic, weird parking or unload and park situations, front desk bouncers keeping you safe and not letting me in, furniture rearrangements in the getting ready space, plus any other f**kery that might happen. I just like a little extra time for “just in case”.

75min - YOU! The person getting married💕 - even if things went quick at the trial I always like to give us enough time in case you want to make changes, or your photographer arrives early, or you have visitors that need kisses. In the flow of the day, preferably, you would go after makeup but not last.

45min - Party Style - this is anyone who’s getting a service. I don’t have a go-to 20 minute style, each person in your party is important and unrushed.

60min - Parry Style for anyone who has extra length, extra thickness, or are using clip in extensions since they take a little extra time. (This doesn’t affect pricing at all, only the timeline)

30min - Final Finishes - why brush out curls at 8:30 when I can brush them at 1:30 so they are fresh? During the service, I style 90% and we do the last 10% in the last few minute OR (big or!) I style 110% and take it down in the last few minutes. This time also serves as a buff for any “just in case” scenarios.

Here’s a bit of a hot take that’s also maybe an unpopular opinion…

🪞When the person getting married is having hair or makeup done, give them a little space⚡️

It’s incredibly overwhelming to be fielding logistical questions, anticipating an emotional experience, and preparing to be social for six plus hours while someone is touching you and you are trying to sit still.

I highly highly recommend letting the person in the glam chair have a little space so they can relax and save some energy for the rest of the party!
