Let’s Talk Retention 🤍 | EP. 2 — Isolation + Placement

One thing I’m really glad I focused on when I was a beginner was my isolation + placement. Before worrying about being fast or doing all the fancy stuff, I wanted my foundation to be CLEAN. You can always build on a good foundation as you grow. 🤍

I also noticed a huge difference once I started using my MUSE Isolation Tweezer. It helps me isolate cleaner and gives me more stability when I’m holding the natural lashes out the way .. especially those annoying inner corners 😭😂

If your isolation is giving you trouble, slow down, make sure you can clearly see ONE natural lash, and focus on keeping it stable before placing your extension.

One thing I’ve learned after doing lashes for almost 7 years is that retention is something you really have to learn through experience. You’re gonna have sets that last, sets that don’t, days where your glue is acting crazy 😭 — it’s all part of learning your craft.

I didn’t come across PRESSURE. until about 3 years into my lash journey, and when I did, I didn’t just start using it on all my paying clients. I took my time transitioning, testing it, learning how it worked with my technique, and paying attention to my results.

And this is something I really want beginner lash techs to take seriously: when you find a new glue you wanna try, practice with it on a model first. Don’t make your paying client your test subject. 😭

You don’t want to still be figuring out a new adhesive while somebody is paying you for a service and then have their retention suffer because you haven’t learned how to work with the glue yet. Your work is your reputation!

Now I’ve been using PRESSURE. for 3+ years, and getting messages from both my clients AND lash techs who have purchased it telling me about their retention? THAT’S the part that makes me proud. 🥹🤍

I’ll always tell y’all to do your own research, test products for yourself, and figure out what works for your technique.
