May’s charity: Walk Among Heroes
My grandfather was a WWII Marine. He’s gone now, but what’s left of his generation won’t be here much longer; the youngest are in their 90s.
Walk Among Heroes takes veterans back to the battlefields where they fought. Normandy. Italy. Bastogne. Places most of them never thought they’d see again. But it’s more than the trip, it’s about preserving their stories before the last of them are gone. The founder, an Iraq War vet, started it after realizing how little we teach about WWII anymore. Pearl Harbor, D-Day, the atomic bombs; that’s about it. Everything else, and everyone else, gets forgotten.
This month’s donation goes to keeping those stories alive.

We’ve been quiet. Not gone, just working.

While the feed’s been nothing but donation receipts, we’ve been building:

We’re done with PayPal.

Their fees are nearly double what we pay to process normal credit cards, and we’re not interested in quietly bleeding money just to keep a logo on the checkout page.

Instead of raising prices to cover it, we’re cutting it.

You can still check out using all major credit/debit cards, plus Google Pay, Apple Pay, and USDC—nothing else changes.

If you’ve been using PayPal, we appreciate you, but this one just doesn’t make sense for a small business like ours.

Thanks for sticking with us while we keep things sustainable (and not stupid expensive).
