Last week we traveled to San Diego to participate in the San Diego Youth Choir Festival with Barrington Children's Choir. The kids were educated and directed by the one and only Cindy Ellis. They did two concerts by the end of the trip and had so much fun going to the beach, going to the zoo, seeing the Seaworld drone show, meeting new friends from around the country, roaming Balboa Park and Downtown Old San Diego in between intense practices. It was my honor to join them as a medical chaperone again this year and spend quality time with my kids, especially my daughter for whom this was her last official BCC performance after a decade in the choir. It has been such a blessing to be a part of this organization and I look forward to more trips with my son and the group! 🎶🎵🌄❤️ Barrington Children's Choir

As we have every year since I was young, we spent 4th of July weekend in Lake Geneva. This year being the 250th birthday of America was extra special but also devastating. On the 3rd we had a sudden, severe and tragic storm that ended the lives of three young children and left many injured and without power or resources. We were in the center of the storm when it occurred and I immediately prayed for anyone who was on the water hoping that nobody was. Unfortunately that wasn't the case and everyone who loves Lake Geneva or calls it home, is feeling the aftermath. I am, however, forever grateful that by random circumstance we were not on the water at that time and that my family got off of their boat just before the storm hit. Despite this tragedy, we spent quality time with friends and family, watching fireworks and feeling grateful for our lives, our safety and our freedom while also praying for those who were hurting. I am proud of how the community responded to those in need and want to send a thank you to all of the first responders and city workers who ran into danger to help and are continuing to work to restore this beloved town.

We had the best time playing at Copper Fiddle Distillery Saturday night! Thank you too all of the people who came out to party with us and to Amanda and and her staff for making us feel so welcome and helping us sound so good with her killer surround sound system!
