Hi friends! 💛

I know it’s been a while since my last update back in December when I shared the news about closing the shop. The past few months have been a time of regrouping and figuring out what Salty Mama Soapery looks like next.

While I don’t have the retail space anymore, I’ve slowly started making small batches of products again from home. My workspace and storage are much smaller now, so production is limited — but it feels really good to be creating again. 🧼✨

If you’ve been missing your favorite soaps and lotions, you’ll have a chance to grab some soon! I’ll be set up at a craft fair on Saturday, March 28th from 9am–3pm at the First Baptist Church in Belfast.

I’ll have:
• Handmade soaps
• Lotions
• A few other goodies

Since I’m working in small batches, quantities will be limited — so come early if there’s something you’ve been hoping to restock!

Hey friends 🤍

I wanted to pop on with a little life update. I truly had every intention of doing a Valentine’s release, but with the new job I mentioned before, my extra time has been pretty minimal. Learning my new role has been so rewarding… but also — let’s be real — mama is tired 😅

That said, I want to reassure everyone that nothing is gone forever. We are still very much planning on building the home soap shop, and for the sake of a healthy work/life balance, I’ve decided it’s best not to bring full production back into the house again until that space is finished. I want to keep creating from a place of joy, not burnout, and this feels like the right move for this season.

In the meantime, I’d love to shine a light on something very close to my heart: animal rescue 🐾

I’ve been a little quiet on here lately, and I wanted to share a quick life update.

After moving out of my shop, things felt a bit upside down for a while but I’m happy to say I’ve settled in nicely. I’m now working from home with Athena Health and finding my rhythm again, which has been such a relief.

The soap + lotion side of my heart is still very much alive though 🧼✨
I just dropped off a fresh restock of my super moisturizing lotions as well as other amazing goodies at The Blue Alpaca 📍 101 Main Street, Belfast and with this cold, brutal winter, our skin could definitely use the extra love.

I’m so excited to share a brand new product idea that will be launching soon on the website — Cold Process Soap Making Kits you can make right at home!

These kits are designed to take the guesswork out of soap making while still giving you the hands-on, creative experience. Each kit will include:

Hosting the craft fair for Safe Harbor Sanctuary was truly amazing. The turnout was incredible, and because of all of you, we raised over $1,500 to help care for the sweetest animals. I am beyond grateful for the support, the kindness, and the community that showed up in such a big way. 🐾💛

Because of the fair (and your enthusiasm!), my website is currently down, I fully intended to have it back up Monday, but I quite literally almost sold out of everything. Thank you for that… truly.

I also want to share a bit of life news. I am in the process of moving out of the shop, something I hadn’t planned or factored into my December schedule, as closing the storefront was not originally my plan. That said, I’ve made peace with it and am genuinely looking forward to what’s next.

I’ve accepted a position with Athena Health and will be starting January 5th, working from home. This means I’ll be home with my children, our sweet dog, and my husband during the winter months (unless he’s out snow plowing ❄️).

Soap making will look a little different this winter. I’ll be working with a much smaller curing space, which means I may be returning to smaller batch sizes and the original square soap bars many of you remember from years past. Lotions and candles will still be available but will be made to order due to limited storage space.

I am so excited for spring, when I can begin working on a home workshop and I promise to share updates and photos along the way so you can follow the journey with me.

Without a Belfast storefront, local pickup will look a bit different, but it will still be available through the website. Pickups will either be at our home shop or via meetup in Belfast (I’m there running errands most weeks anyway!).

Thank you all for the continued support, encouragement, and love. I’m incredibly thankful for this community and truly excited for this next chapter.
