Parents: Don’t raise your children to be responsible and independent adults, and become angry or feel disrespected when they actually become who you've raised them to be. Pat them on the back once they learn to advocate for themselves.
Your kids have the right to set boundaries with you and disagree with you. It doesn't always feel good when your child says, "No," or "No more!" In fact, you want them to feel confident enough to say "No" or "no more" before they leave home. This is a skill that will add to their quality of life.
A difference in perspective doesn’t necessarily mean that someone is right and someone is wrong.
Give them permission to disagree with you. Show them how to disagree while maintaining a respectful demeanor (parents must learn the difference first). DISAGREEING WITH YOUR PARENTS IS NOT DISRESPECT.
Finally, do not become angry with your kids when they don’t have the courage to protect themselves and stand up to bullies, abusive spouses, unethical employers, etc if you have conditioned your kids to SHUT UP AND LISTEN you can expect them to be wired that way throughout their life unless they learn how to rewire and reprogram. Sometimes this takes months, or years of therapy.
Silencing your kids during childhood because you view their outward expression of thoughts and feelings as disrespectful says their thoughts, needs, and emotional experience aren't a priority. You don't want to send them out into the world seeing things through that lens. This positions them to be mistreated and bullied as kids and as adults.
Home is where they learn, earn, exercise, own, express and become comfortable with their voice. They don’t have an on/off switch. Give them permission to advocate for themselves, teach them how to use their voice, encourage and support them, and help them understand that no one gets to take away their ability to speak up for, protect, and take care of themselves.

Never allow others to tell you who you are or whether you're good enough. You will not always meet the criteria or standards that others set, but you should ALWAYS meet yours. The holidays can be a tough time of the year for some. Working towards loving yourself will help keep things in perspective, and increase the likelihood of maintaining a positive mood.
It's Money Monday! Are you certain that your career and business decision(s) still fit? Does it still make sense? You don't have to do what you've always done. You can choose something different if it makes more sense.

Are you a local counselor interested in serving your community? We’d love to have you join us this week. If you can’t make it the transitional living program is in need of donations for residents (diapers, wipes, baby lotion, socks, body wash, deodorant, pajamas, hygiene products, etc).

Perfection isn't required for effectiveness or greatness. Keep moving forward.

Kids need emotional support. Sometimes it's tough for parents to be emotionally available for their children because no one provided emotional support for them when they were children.

A Monday is similar to a blank canvas. What will you create this week?
Plan to have a productive yet HEALTHY week. Creating, producing, and succeeding means absolutely nothing if you are not of sound mind, if you are in poor health, and your relationships are not healthy.
Your mental health, inner thoughts, and your interpersonal relationships should be at the very top of your list of “To-Do’s.” Nurture yourself in mind, body, and spirit FIRST, relationships SECOND, work THIRD, and everything else will fall into place organically.
Happy Monday!
