MEET MARIA!

Please help us welcome and get to know Maria, a proud member of Lake George Volunteer EMS!

When she’s not serving our community, Maria can usually be found at the greenhouse, where she spends her days planting, designing, helping customers, and doing a little bit of everything! 🌱🌸

Outside of work and EMS, Maria loves spending time with her family, playing volleyball, horseback riding, and enjoying pretty much any outdoor adventure or opportunity that God sends her way!

Maria has been involved in in-home care and emergency medicine since 2020, bringing valuable experience, compassion, and a heart for helping others to our EMS team.

We’re grateful to have Maria as part of the Lake George Volunteer EMS family!

AUGUST SAFETY AWARENESS —
LAKE GEORGE VOLUNTEER EMS
August may be winding down, but summer safety is still important!
Stay Hydrated — Drink plenty of water, especially when working or playing outdoors.
Be Water Safe — Wear your life jacket, keep an eye on children, and never underestimate the dangers of cold water.
Be Fire Smart — Check campfires before leaving them and make sure they are completely out.
Slow Down & Stay Alert — Whether you're heading to the lake, coming home from an event, or traveling our rural roads, take your time and watch for pedestrians, cyclists, farm equipment, and wildlife.
Know Before You Go — Let someone know where you're headed when enjoying the outdoors, and carry a charged phone.
And remember: Emergencies don't take a day off.
Our volunteers are ready to answer the call when our community needs us. But the best emergency is the one that never happens.

So yesterday… we heard a rumor. 😳
It was an emergency—but not an active 911 emergency.
It was a COFFEE EMERGENCY!
Two of the wives were set up at the Lake Itasca Regional Pioneer Farmers Craft & Flea Market, and apparently some of the vendors were in desperate need of the nectar of the coffee bean.
Problem? There wasn’t a coffee shop close by!
So who got the call?
Jason and Mike from Lake George Volunteer Fire & EMS came to the rescue!
Because when your community needs help, sometimes the emergency isn’t a fire, a medical call, or a rescue…
Sometimes… it’s COFFEE!
And these guys were more than happy to answer the call!
Lake George Volunteer Fire & EMS — responding to emergencies big, small, and apparently caffeinated!
